THIS IS THE GAME I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR?!? If this is where SHENMUE is heading, I'd rather stay in the dark. For crying out loud I haven't played a game since Shenmue... That's how compelling a story this is. If i wanted dragons and magic attacks and levitating swords i'd play final fantasy or whatever is played these days. Culture, a dark obsession, reality, untapped potential, friendship, drama & perhaps the greatest music ever composed for a game or movie ever. This is what Shenmue is(was?!?)

From the offset, Shenmue was always going to be magic based. I admit, I never expected it to the extent of levitating swords, but the scene at the end of S2 is there to show Shenhua's power. It's not something every character will possess and is used in the SOnline marketing to differentiate the characters.

The Shenmue prologue is the story so expect 'dragons emerging from the earth and a phoenix descending from the heavens'. Literally!

@FeelinLuckyPUNK Agreed, I saw maic as inevedeble aswel. Comments that dis aprove is the kind of feedback that discourages sega from making the 3rd instalment. It shows them you dont want the game the invisioned from the start. I Expect the final fight seen was not ment to be dry and similar to all the previous ones....for ryu to take out lan di there will have to be loads of fireworks. I'm all for what they come up with as long as they make something. I need closer on this fantastic story.

@Djungelurban Symbolism is subtle. Fiction is in your face. That levitating sword was "pretty in your face". Shenmue IS the greatest game ever made, but the ending to 2 is not. If it ever heads in that direction, i would be devastated. So much so that i would've wished for it not to have been concluded. How's that for hypotheticals? lol. Would you like to fight L D sama with magic attacks?
