Beautiful, my new friend. I wish that i could post something from my backgrond (Seneca/Iroquois, u.s.a.) But a lot of us lost our people and culture, due to, well you know who :) So this is an honour. being shared with is just..cool az.. :)xoxo's elle

My step mum is a descendant of William Cook and Tiraha and I see a bit about William Cook fighting at Trafalgar before coming to NZ and listed as a Carpenter on ships rolls. Just to let you know I have the will of this William Cook who was fighting at Trafalgar and I am afraid it is not "Our" William Cook. The will states a wifes name and is dated 1795 making him born at least 1775ish. It doesn't tie in with the dates on Williams headstone! Sorry. Or this may be "Our" William Cooks father:-)

Hello, I dont mean to sound ofensive, nieve or ignarint but I just would like to ask you a question. How are the cooks related to Nga Puhi? I ask because I have a friend that is a cook. Thanks
William Cook married Tiraha Papaharakeke - Tiraha (Hokianga/Waikare) is a whangai daughter of Chief Tamati Waka Nene. This man William Cook is our Great Great Grand Father, even though he is a pakeha from England our Nga Puhi comes from our Great Great Grandmother Tiraha Papaharakeke.
