  • I like the song, but I'll admit that the only reason I wanted to listen to it was because Yelle sampled it. Nothing wrong with appreciating the original, of course!

  • Haven't seen this video or heard this song in ages... but for some reason I remember the singer's voice being lower pitched than it is here

  • Porque no Puedo Ver los Videos en mi Reproductor Bluray Sony S380 ya que viene con el canal Youtube pero no encuentra los videos Subido por ustedes. como podria hacer si me pueden ayudar que cosa debo configurar

  • Excellent song, now it doesn't work since VEVO jacked it. The artists should be embarassed to sell their songs to that crappy group.

  • draco...?hahah x_x

  • I never heard this when it was new.

I just heard it a couple of weeks ago here on the radio and thought it was a Human League song that had slipped by me. Oh well, close enough! Lol

I really need this on vinyl.

  • Proper use of a 303. No just kidding! Great tune!!

  • One of 1983s best.

  • Still my fav track EVER!!! <3

  • One of the BEST songs of the 80's BY FAR

  • One Of The BEST 80's Songs No Doubt About It !!!!!

  • Yay! An EMI song that isn't blocked in my country!

  • @AManNamedCM2 I hate that blocking crap!! Why would they deprive my country of a David Bowie song? That's just cruel and unusual punishment!

  • LONG LIVE 303 BAZZ

  • back in the day yo

  • I met a guy in a club back in1983 and we danced to this song. Spent the next six years together.

  • this vevo site sucks and should be shut down for there stupid corporate force of stinking advertising. I'm here for music not some stupid beauty aid products.PROTEST AGAINST ADVERTISING

  • Too young to remeber when it was released but timeless song! Excellent!

  • Love it and it's an early 303 track.

  • great track!! instantly added to favorites!

  • mitica!

  • A period when music was refreshing, with lots of bands who innovated each year between 1979-1987 (New Wave's period).

    Love the eighties music.

  • My fav always too. What has always amazed me is how Heaven 17/early Human League were so prophetic.

Their early "I'm Your Money" track is stunning too, youtube copy and paste and search,

    watch?v=YkLl-03UMTY

  • wonderful song, this is my favorite too, it was the great time of real music

  • this is the best song of 80s

  • Love this Song :-) been listening to it all day on my iPod at work pressing the back button.

  • Lucious Malfoy...the new wave years.....

  • Did I REALLY just have to sit through a Summer's Eve douche commercial to watch this video?!?! DARN YOU, VEVO! Still, it was worth it. One of my favorite songs of all-time. I'd even watch a tampon commercial to see hear this song again!

  • This was one of my favorite songs in high school. I still find myself singing it. I heart the 80's!

  • Great song. Ah senior year. But this video? I'm glad I'd not seen it first.

  • @34airflow 80's videos can be hit or miss. I'm glad I didn't see the video for "Love and Pride" by King, for example, until the past year. lol.

  • @kentuckyfriedplus So true. I think now that maybe I wasn't so unlucky to have not had my MTV until after I'd gotten hooked on a number of great songs (with weak videos.) :-)

  • One of my all time favorite videos

  • I recall they use to use the scream of the week then to schreek of the week...then one night, as i was driving home from a club in the city, it was just sound of the ocean wave for hours and hours....

Later that morning to my shock....all i hear on that station was nothing but "nachos grandes e guacamole burritos.." depressing!

Keep the memories alive one day they'll come back!

  • Still upset over the fact that NYC metro area radio station that carried these tunes closed up n left.

Those in the area know the station as WDRE....miss u guys!

  • @nmssis I was raised on Long Island, and I recall when WDRE was WLIR, back in the 80s.

  • @chewybunz great time!

  • @nmssis Yes, I'm not sure when the station's call letters changed, but by the mid-90s, it was WDRE.

  • Great tune, I have not heard this for a long time!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Bliss!

  • How can it be rock if it doesn't have guitars?

  • Makes you think about the Dross being played today...No talk about killing or Guns and Drugs.....What went wrong?????

  • Top ten of the 80' songs

  • IS THIS THE FIRST USE OF A TB-303?

  • i thought the luxury gap was one of the best albums of the eighties it's stood the test of time and still sounds as good today as it did the first time i heard it in 1983.

  • 80s had so much good music...........

  • some people talk too much.

  • the beginning, with the phone, really reminds me of kraftwerk-telephone call.

  • it's awesome this song i love 80s

  • Marty McFly, where are you :[

    I need a Time Machine.

  • Fast-forward to 0:21, and the street's the exact same one near the beginning of the Specials' "Ghost Town" - perhaps it was outside EMI's offices or something.

  • This is my very very favorite song.... I'm 41 and I've listened to this since the 80's and it is still my favorite... Will love this song forever!

  • @gingerdevor i so know how you feel on that! 37!

  • @gingerdevor ITS SO FABULIOUS!!!! MUSIC THAT HAS EVERYTHING....A classic forever!!!!!

  • the perfect song

  • This ace song didn't even make the Top 40 back in 1981 yet it is such a melting pot of sound..... we were spoilt for choice in the 80s, the charts had something for everyone.

I heard it last week for the first time in 25 years and thought, "Wow! How have I lived this long without hearing it?"

  • @THEharperizer Don't think it was out in 81 but i could be wrong? didn't it come out in 1983 on the luxury gap album?

  • @THEharperizer Are you serious? This event make the TOP 40 ?

And i was a single person , but bought this one ...

  • Amen to that !!! ArielPhotog !!

  • This song mixes so beautifully into "Nowhere Girl" by B-Movie... great piece of music here.

  • Love this video - brings back so many memories of my childhood, thank you for posting!!!

  • I grew up listening to Heaven 17... You'll never find awsome music like this any more..That's a time when music and fashion was at it's peak.. After the 80's It all went down hill..

  • @captainarcher2 Blame Grunge... Grunge killed music.

  • L.A. MV3!

  • Brilliant track, brilliant band, brilliant video. Heaven 17 saw the yuppie writing on the wall all the way back in 1981.

  • Weird drum syncapation this track spoils it for me!

  • Easily H17s best song and such a shame people only ever remember "Temptation".

  • I remember dancing this tune at Bauhaus in Lima...oh man, the memories ;-)

  • brings back mad memories

  • I remember sometime in '84 or '85 (??) fighting with my friend in the record store around the corner from our high school on who would buy the 12". He won.

  • One of my favourite songs by H17. Glenn's voice is gorgeous.

  • Try "Whisper To A Scream" by Icicle Works. That was out around the time this great H-17 was on MTV too. Thanks for the post!

  • please get out of my head i have school tomorow!

  • bellissima canzone e bellissimo video... wonderful.....

  • Wow. 25 odd years after having this record on 12" I FINALLY get to see the video heh heh. What a great record, it sounds years ahead of it's time.

I used to call H17 'The Masters of The Synth'. But the chances of seeing them live in those days - virtually nil. Glenn Gregory has said recently that was a mistake, and you were right mate. I'd have given a lot to see you perform this live - superb.

  • Quality product

  • Thank you EMI! I have been looking for this video for years. it was one of my favorite videos on MTV during the 80's.

  • great music

  • Here in So Cal KROQ would throw parties at local clubs or anywhere a lot of people would fit, thanks for the vid.

  • It's like an addiction...you never stop hearing it! Magnificent!

  • @givesyouhell002 I can't stop listening to this, I can't get sick of it, I just think this track is brilliant!

  • A Relative Steven Herleridge Music Recording Productions....L.A......

  • I wrote a program that randomly picks a song from a library of over 40,000 songs from the 80's and loops it for one hour.

This song played for 3 hours in a row.

    ಠ_ಠ

  • The thing is you can pick 95% of bands from the 80s and all of them would be leagues better than bands of today. Some of the 80s stuff I missed out on at the time but I guarantee I could sit through the whole album without wanting to tear my hair out unlike today's racket. I can't name one band today that come anywhere near this one group.

  • The British ruled the 80s

  • LOVE this song!! My favorite 80's dance song. Still so fun to dance to! I love that you can drop this in clubs now and kids who were babies then get down to it. Timeless.

  • I love this area they filmed in. I sometimes wonder round there on a sunday morning and the streets are empty just liek teh video. One of H17's best songs...

  • I was a junior in high school when this came out. I thought it was one of the coolest songs I'd ever heard.. Hearing it now I'm even more struck by the talent these guys had. Nearly 30 years later it's even cooler. I'm emotional hearing it again. Wonderful stuff.

  • I was 14/15 yrs old and this made a difference then, and WOW! it's all happening again. I love the Internet..now I'm gonna get a JAPAN injection! LOL!!

  • I remember playing this song when I was the morning DJ on my college radio station-It still works for me!

  • Whack up the volume, enjoy what we used to, chill & even give a little foot tap.

    Class act, class synth's....many memories!!!.

  • since 20 years this song is great again ,,,original professional band they were very good musiciens ,,,in those years many wonderful bands borned ..and this is an another best example of that unforgettable ...today no new bands as 80 create really good original music---

  • Can't Rate HEAVEN 17 high enough... faultless and Timeless...MAGIC

  • i never heard this group before , not bad

  • Not as good as The Human League, but still good.

  • @80slvr87 Not as good as the human League???

  • Absolutely loved this song when it was on heavy rotation on MTV in the early days of the channel. However, the song became even bigger for me when I was 16 years old and I would go to an underground freestyle club in the east tremont section of the bronx called the Devils Nest, A then unknown DJ, Lil Louie Vega, would drop this towards the end of the evening and everyone in the club would sing along. Powerful memory.
