You know, it's really hard to get anyone to do anything about identity theft after it has happened, I wonder if that is on purpose. Biometrics would solve that problem, which is a real problem and only getting worse, but would an ID card w/ biometrics be an improvement? This passed in the UK 2006 - National Identity Card. They managed to get it made law because at present you can choose if you want it. But now you can not renew your passport and therefore leave the country without one. They will hold 50 pieces of information and can be tracked. Including everywhere you have ever lived, job, education, criminal record, finger prints, facial & iris scans. This will cost us muti billions to impliment and will lead to every person's whereabouts known at all times.

In Iraq the citizens had to put their finger in ink. This prevented any from voting more than once.
I am not for any bar code injections, but I see a few reasons that the public will go for it.

Yeah I've seen Bowling for Columbine. I understand that side, I used to think that too. But I think the real reason why the right to bare arms was put in the Constitution was to guarantee the people can protect against a government that grows out of control and becomes a tyranny like what the original revolution fought against.
And with the things that have been going on with Bush practically being a dictator, the reason for it has become a lot more clear.
