Hmm very interesting but a flip phone is probably not the best format. I've had a Sonim XP that IMHO was rubbish and a Samsung Solid M110. The "GI Joe" Samsung was also rubbish but could have been excellent if they had used the correct plastic for its window. I'm thinking in terms of 2mm Lexan (tm) polycarbonate sheet. I have tested this material with an air rifle using lead pellets fired point blank and it won't shatter. That's why they don't use it in mobile phones!

I went through about 4 phones a year until I met this grimy lil bastard. Now when my wife pisses me off on the phone and I throw it.....it's all good lol. It survives me. That means it is a tough phone.....but I can't think of any flip style phone that would survive the open face tractor deal-even in soft sand the hing is the weakest point....like the abs of a flabby boxer.

@Juel555 Dug you down for bad spelling, grammar, and logic. Believe it or not, all the tests they did are fairly common phone hazards if you work around heavy machinery or construction. I've worked in a factory and several construction sites, almost everyone had one of these phones; I've seen them hit with forklifts, pallets being dropped on them, nicked with circle saws, dropped in mud, and even run over with a truck (folded closed). Aside from some serious cosmetic damages, they still worked.

I've had this phone for over a year and it's truly as rugged as advertised. Yes, it's huge compared to most other phones, the buttons on the side are terrible and take some getting used to, and it's software is equivalent to a vhs player - however IT JUST KEEPS GOING. As a guy who keeps his phone in my back pocket, I was tired of cracked screens and water damage. Plus, you can use this phone in the shower - how awesome is that! (maybe I'm alone on the shower part......)
