@frano84 I tend to go with the heaven option rather than the sleep option because i) Both the Rich Man and Lazarus were conscious after death, Luke 16, ii) "We...would prefer to be absent from the body and at home with the Lord," 2 Cor 5v8. If we don't go to be with Jesus when we die but fall asleep, wouldn't it be better to stay alive longer and live for Him? It seems they are the only two options: live for Jesus on earth or enjoy His presence in Heaven.

Shame that lots of folks miss the JOY of their salvation by getting caught up in nit picking details that mean NOTHING to the Lord, or your/my salvation! Of course it pleases the Lord when we honor one of his saints. We all that are christians give the glory to GOD, not to Vestal, or any other dear saint. Mentioning these saints and honoring them for what they accomplished also brings glory and honor to the Lord. The Lord desires spiritual fruits, not religious nuts (zealots).

Nobody said they weren`t honoring God! But as is common pracxtice we also honor in a different way those who have touched our lives but have passed on!!

@frano84 ok folks let me tell you all a little somthing.Vestal WAS A SAINT! she helped lead more people to christ in a three minute song then most people can do in a life time!they honor God with their music! when you lost a loved one what did you do at the funeral.play their faveorit songs.read their faveorit poems.they are honoring vestal.a woman who battled for God!you should be ashamed.i hope you all sit next to vestal in heaven.shed smile and let out a little giggle and say "hey darlin"
