Just saw K.D perform this live an hour ago... nearly brought me to tears. Her voice soared above the crowd and charmed us all - this was the fourth song she performed; she was awarded with a 5 minute long standing ovation. I don't think there was a single audience member sitting.

It's one of the best versions, very very good but it doesn't compare at all to Jeff Buckley. No comparison.

Langs version just doesn't have the intimacy of Buckleys. His version is really stripped down and raw. Also the timing is a bit rushed, doesn't have that perfect waiting moments in between. And lastly I think that this is a song best sung by a man. No sexism or anything, but I just think there's something incredibly moving about a man opening up with such emotion and pain.

@68dmm86 Jeff's version is most definitely the best one I know. His was the first version that I ever encountered and it is part of my spirit along with Leonard's own version. Jeff's version can bring me to tears when I sing along to it with my eyes shut and matching him in volume and in his impassioned singing. K.D.'s version is lovely, but it seems rather lyrical in tone and is wanting in the WOW factor for being passionate for me. But I am neither a like nor dislike on the voting for this.
