I first heard this song in 1974, sung by Randy Newman. I was 18 at the time, and I thought it was about a break-up. Now I'm a widow, and I realise it's a really good song about widow grief too. Your version really captures what I remember of how Randy did it; at the same time it's your own too. Thanks.

all i can say is excellent work. I was looking for a harry nilsson video and i caught yours and I was pleasantly surprised as 99% of the video in youtube of users singing and playing some of their favorite songs are crap, yours surely isn't. first of all you sing it very well (it's not an easy song in that department) and the piano playing is also very nice. the dark room also gives it a great ambience. good job and by the way post more songs of you playing nilsson's songs

fuck you Harry Nilsson is the best, he obviously inspired by Harry Nilsson. You try and sing Without You theres no better or harder vocal then what Harry done on that.
