BioLogic Bike Mount for iPhone

Had the iPhone4 version for a week or two. Descending fast on a mountain road with a good surface. Got to the bottom. The iPhone along with the little foam insert was no longer in the case. The case had clearly snapped open and the iPhone had fallen out. Retraced my route for eight miles - all steep and up hill. The phone was nowhere to be found.

Very expensive day out.

glanicing down whilst cycling is extremly dangerous. In less than a tenth of a second a car can stop especially in heavy traffic. it happened to me once in an urban area and i smahed my face on a car that had stopped in front of me.  dont look down when cycling

@circuts, the Bike Mount is designed only for the iPhone so it won't fit other mobile devices. There is a new Bike Mount out specifically for the iPhone 4 and you can find more info about it on the thinkbiologic channel.

Almost flawless, now, will the gps reception suffer ? And does it have access to the audio port ?

@semo2010, the GPS function works just fine in the case. We use it all the time to track and map our rides. There is a sealed port where you can plug in headphones or speakers. Works great with our CycleTunes speakers.

@td45, the current Bike Mount does not fit the iPhone 4 since the dimensions of the phone has changed slightly. We are working on a solution to fit the iPhone 4 and we'll be announcing more news about this on our website (dahon.com) when we get closer to pushing it out.

@ITSTRUEMENTAL, you can mount the ReeCharge to most anything solid as long as the silicone strap can wrap around it and you keep it away from any hot surfaces.

This is amazing!! will it work for the iPod touch? or will the Touch slide around inside? because the touch is thinner then the iphone.

@iTehTunePawd, like you mentioned, the iPod Touch is a bit thinner than the iPhone so it won't be held securely in the Bike Mount. We have heard, though, of people having success stacking something on the bottom to raise the Touch higher.

@weardybeardy, the case lock for the Bike Mount is pretty secure so there definitely is no problem with using it on regular paved roads. Since off-road riding, like you said, can be pretty rough with so many unknowns (huge holes, 10' drops, etc.) we don't recommend using the Bike Mount in such conditions.

@heckafresh, you can use regular plug-in earphones with your iPhone in the Bike Mount. There is port in the upper left hand corner of the Mount that aligns with the iPhone output jack.

Hi! First of all, congrats for the product. It's really cool! I'm very interested in buying one for me, but I intend to use it on my motorcycle. Is it safe to use on a motorcycle? The vibration wont make it fall? I have an Buell, and it viobrates a lot! I want the biologic to use my iphone as a gps and cam corder, but I cant risk to break or loose it. Thanks for teh help, -J.

@edebr1454, thanks for the compliment. We're pretty excited about this product too. Since the Bike Mount forms a weatherproof seal when closed, you won't be able to hear anything without the use of headphones. It'll fit an iPhone 2G with no problem.

My iPhone survived a soaking wet ride on my motorcycle... over 20 miles in downpour on the freeway. Not a drop of water got past the rubber seal. It should be noted that the mount was not in the direct wind, but behind a small windscreen. See my video response as posted above for details...

@factoringwizard, the silicone liner in the Bike Mount is designed to snugly fit an iPhone so that it doesn't jostle and vibrate. Since there are so many types of cases out there, it is hard to design a liner that would fit most of them. Unless your case is very thin, it most likely will not fit.

@magnusgraham, you can recharge an iPhone when it's in the Bike Mount from the ReeCharge without any problem. In fact, we had exactly this setup in mind when we designed the two products. You can use use both products separately, but they complement one another wonderfully.
