Great song, excellent album, awesome artist. Mat's pretty much been my fav artist since i was lucky enough to discover him a few yrs back. One thing though it's not "christian" music as such. Sure his songs have undertones of faith, hope, love etc but he made sure he did not sign to a Christian label as his music is for all, so sit back, relax and enjoy.

I think this song is very ambiguous, there is nothing here that anyone can't relate to. He might be praying to something (or someone) specific, but can any of you ever not recall a time in your life when things were looking down and you just hoped for a brighter future. For Christians, he's praying to God. For everyone else, he's just a man who's hoping for a better tomorrow.

@JRferra For the record I really like this guys music but the reason you love it is because this is not christian music. CHRISTian music sings about God and his grace and Jesus and his salvation. Not once is Jesus mentioned here.

@MrKnow1n I agree with you that there is certainly music which shows praise to the Lord in more potent ways, but even just the line "We all need forgiveness" shows us that Mat Kearney has realised what is the main theme about Chrisitanity: That we all need forgiveness from the Lord who died on the cross to save us from our sins. @JRferra I'm in the same boat. I'm actually an atheist and I'm also a huge fan. I like that he doesn't make his music very "preechy". You hear some Christian references in some of his lyrics, but that is fine b/c that is who he is and how he was raised. But I certainly wouldn't call it "Christian rock". As long as he keeps making great music I will be listening. Love this song. His first album is still his best IMO.
