@nyrosafka Another word to use instead of 'cover' when one artist performs a song that another artist performed previously is 'reading'. I like this word better especially when the new performance is as excellent as this and all of Melanie's performances.

Bob Dylan was such a great and talented writer, but he couldn't sing for ship. Melanie, on the other hand, can sing anything and make you feel it DEEP - she always brought the blue to your heart. OMG she had that talent. Her voice is just so perfect for the blues.

Personally I like Mike Ness' (of Social Distortion) cover better. Then again, I'm a little biased as Social D is one of my favorite bands of all time. I will say this for Melanie when she covers a song, she makes it her own. Which is the way it should be, if your going to take the time to record a cover you should put your own twist on it, for better or worse.
