Wow a senior out there doing some dirty work with the rest of everyone? that's awesome...wish my senior would come down and get dirty with us XD (not literally)
So why does the air force need an EOD unit? I'm not trying to be an asshole but I'm just wondering. It seems the Army and Navy have it covered pretty well.
@historyman9 The Army and Navy EODs are different from AFEOD. Air Force bomb monkies are more highly trained and handle the larger explosives, weapon caches and stuff like that.
Army, Marine and Navy EODs take care of the lower-key things and (typically) don't actually defuse explosives, rather just throw C4 ontop of the IEDs and detonate it.
@3091181 Once a Marine always a Marine, don't you forget that. Don't take shit from nobody, especially not some punk on youtube that think he's tough.
Wow...why do you brothers argue with eachother? Sure the Marines have harder training, but the Airforce uses you for your brain, not your muscles. Its obvious that the people that say that have never been in a real shit storm that required air support. Once the airforce comes and make the job easier, then talk.
Please, when you read this, take a second to really think about how jealous and luck you are to get that job, and how badly i would like that job! Good luck with you! One more year till i join!
kingdonkey1983 & hercman02130 ... why can't you kids play nice? It reflects poorly upon both the AF and the Army to have people arguing with eachother about them.
Hey hercman02130----I am not sure if your "above average" 89D mind told you but, you miss spelled ASVAB. The "V" stands for vocational! Just wanted you to know that, though I am sure you did cause you are a bad ass killing machine?!?!?! (that can't spell) 4th grade huh? You are the reason the AF has to "Army Proof" everything! Have a great AF day......fucktard! AF Civil Engineering Rocks, just ask the marine battalion at Kandahar! My troops built thier camp! On my way there in 10 days!!!!
Wow, apparently you didn't read before. I spent 6 years in the USAF. But it is nice to see that the intellegence level of your job is still set slightly above 4th grade name calling, congrats. EOD school is the second hardest school in the DoD, only surpassed by spec ops medic. Now if you have the crab you know this simple fact. If not you're just like an army grunt and one more reason we, EOD TECHS, treat you, "grunts & ignorants", like kids when you call us. But please continue... :)
LMAO, Air Force EOD is primarily on base response. Outside the gate you're looking at getting Army EOD response. We have cooler equipment that you can deploy on the move. ;)
SEALS don't have EOD but EOD techs are assigned to spec ops units. Hince why we have the highest drop out rate in training.
HAHA, who said I'm "generic Army grunt"? Apparently you are unschooled or incapable of using google to search for 89D. We must be capable of taking care of our own stuff and air force equipment also. But then again, ASFAB scores for all branches are the same to get into EOD.
FYI, I could drop bombs w/ the Air Force, I have the degree and the training, but I'd prefer a job that leads to more than a high paid bus driver.
Wow, talk about someone who pretends to be a mudhumper. 6 flights of EOD get stationed at an airfield. 2 flights work on base, the other 4 are moved to FOB to assist the Army and Marines.
The Army is just a bunch of ants on the ground without the Air Force. You have no air superiority so just shut up you fake wannbe grunt.
I spent 6 years with the Air Force, and I am anthing but a "mudhumper". My entire time with the Army has been in EOD. And yes our current engagement requires AF EOD to help us out. So do the combat engineers.
Just answer me two questions and I'll know if you are an EOD tech. What is 1.25lbs of plastic explosives refered to as, and where is the Air Force EOD school located?
So we agree that it is NAVSCOLEOD. And yes the Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force have their own indoc. schools at seperate bases. Army at Red Stone Aresonal, Air Force is back at Lackland AFB I believe, and I can't remember where the Marines is, I want to say Camp Lagune.
I know my "job" better than any other military personnel know their job, and I'll put my life where my mouth is. Oh wait, I already do.
I guess none of you know about EOD. past google. go suck on a HEAT PIBD-PE
AF EOD training is at Eglin AFB in Florida, you stupid little grunt. Fucking Army cunts think your like tough shit or something? I'm sorry the USAF didn't accept your dumb generic ass, but don't take that out on us.
Chair force faggot. lol say generic 5 more times to feel special while cleaning toilets for general douche bag at whatever AFB you happen to be at. You guys always stared at the floor when me and my friends walked into the bars in Germany. What is it about Marines that scares you little girls so much?
@mikeyj312 They aren't jarhead junkies. My borther was a marine and he died fighting for his counrty. Maybe you should think before you post a disrespectful comment you asshole.
@3091181 too bad u werent a marine. if u were u wudnt be in a bar in germany cuz theres no german marine duty stations but nice try arm chair commando if u were in the military youd realize that the air force has some jobs that would make you cry go release some knuckle children to the cover of ur call of duty game

@historyman9 AF EOD responds to 50% of the IED calls overseas. and that percentve used to be higher, closer to 70%

Neither does the Army or Marines. I guess you dont know your so called "job" that well. Only the Navy has a specially built school.
And yes, the AF does have an introduction school to the EOD career that you spend I believe it to be 7 days at.
