@CGNZYR I have just red the book 'The Third Wave Poisoning the Land' and I am very offended at what our government is doing to our land. I also find this meaningless and the sooner the rest of this world finds out what our government is really doing in raining down enough 1080 from the sky to kill 20 million humans every year the better!!!

@CGNZYR - in 60-years of use not one single person has been killed in NZ as a result of an aerial 1080 opperation. Cars, firearms, lightning and bee stings have killed a large number of humans over the last 60-years. Did the book happen to mention that?

@CGNZYR - I would suggest that people look at the results of the investigation conducted by the Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment, Dr Jan Wright, who concluded that 1080 was so beneficial to this country that more of it should be used.

Contrived photos. Think about it. Possums and rat trained to work together to raid the nest and ignore regular flashing of camera. Analysis of wild possum stomach contents in studies have revealed no indication of bird predation. Also, this is identified as a "thrush nest" but thrushes don't nest in tree holes! They build round nests of grass and twigs and locate them high in trees, in the foliage. Why do 1080 promoters and possum haters feel the need to deliberately mislead the public?

True enough. But we have the power to preserve something really special. Should we just leave the bush to the possums, pigs, rats etcetera and damn the birds and insects, or shoulod we use that power and do something about it?

No creature is native; every creature migrates to fill the maximum possible niche. Native habitat is what is left over after an ecology has shifted to the winners. A balanced or unbalanced ecology just depends on when the prejudiced observer happens to be looking. Circle of death. Sorry mate, I don't like it either, but that's just how it is.
