  • Im canadian but ive never liked our enginges here in north america they lack style and are ugly

  • Thanks for posting , we added this to our playlist, and featured this on facebook, thanks.

  • Anyone know if this film is available on dvd and its soundtrack also available to buy.

  • Wow. Longest film intro I've seen with no dialogue starting yet.

  • back to the future they should call it

  • Fantastic filmed with poetry!

  • old ass movei

  • Interesting the amount of criticism on European trains here despite, having it not been for European railway development in the 19th century, no country would have been able to transport goods effectively and would have set the world back at least 20 years...

    You're welcome by the way.

  • European locomotives are designed with short distances between point A and B, look at the size of each country. The States have a much bigger area to cross so we need larger, stronger locomotives. But I'd rather look at the black and red German loco's or the GWR's green over the black, black and more plain black. Oh and I bet Britain alone has more running steam now then the US does.

Love this movie btw, thanks for posting.

  • Love these Euro engines. 5/5

  • Beautiful film... :)

  • i'll give you a reason why trains are made the are made for transportation

  • "When the finger points at the moon, the moron looks at the finger".

This movie was dealing with a world war which killed millions and teared the planet apart, and this short-sighted maniac is obsessed with locomotives whistles... Splendid.

  • what a bloody philistine

  • Nothing compared to huge, mighty American steam locomotives with harmonious whistles - not little shrieking pennywhistles.

  • The whistle of the french railbuses was good too..

  • @robertgift Our locomotives are not wimpy, we have the most glorious and striking locomotives ever, not to mention the most famous (Flying Scotsman) and the fastest (Mallard)

  • crazy, They even look wimpy.

But it is unfair when I compare them to the mighty, powerful, American locomotives with masculine multi-note whistles, not feminine shrieking pennywhistles.

  • @crazyracer12 Of all the locos you could have picked you picked the Scotsman and Mallard? The damn things don't work any more. Why not a Coronation or a 9F? Few things are more striking than a Coronation in full streamlining

  • @robdonkey You need to be updated. Flying Scotsman's rebuild was just completed. And Mallard is preserved as an idle exhibit. I think this is wrong, myself.

  • @crazyracer12 Let's hope the Scotsman doesn't conk out yet again and vacuum up even more money that could have gone on other projects at the NRM. And I believe Mallard wouldn't run no matter how hard you tried. Short of a full rebuild anyway.

  • great movie

  • Nice Video!

  • Very good for a wet Sunday afternoon. I watched part 2 as well. Not for the impatient person but I enjoyed it. Very evocative.

  • Thanks for posting this. I enjoyed watching.
