@anasasisxenophontis its called crossover. once you hit crossover, backwash of the exhaust gases from the manifold into the combustion chamber is eliminated, leading to 100% combustion chamber intake charge filling. result: big power.
most street turbos do not operate in crossover, as their turbine a/r is sized for boost response in various driving environments. OTOH, most race turbo applications are sized for their max power capacity, allowing for enough turbine flow to work in crossover.
@holset84 Thats interesting. I run nothing but T-6 turbos that are very oversized on the turbine side for their application, yet have not seen boost pressure surpass exhaust backpressure..
Bugatti should've asked you to build their engine for the veyron... Holy shit that's a lot of power. Amazing
