  • where did you get your mahachai from? im gonna start breeding Betta wild types now that i got my own place i agree with americablah the water level is a bit high and maybe you didnt feed him enough prior to the spawn? i hope to get some wild caught Imbellis, Smaragdina and Mahachai to breed is that the only wild type you spawned?

  • I got the pair from a good friend. As far as the water level. . .I wanted to give the pair as much room as needed. They spawned beautifully. I think I spawned other wilds types but I don't remember what they were - not into bettas now just salt water.

  • ok cool thx for replying first of all and one more question what did you use to get the water tea colored? some kind extract or did u use indian almond leaves? or maybe something else?

  • I just used IAL - got it off Ebay (cheap!) and I made sure the water was a bit brackish.

  • hey could you send me that video?

  • Sorry - I can't. . . I don't remember where I stored it on the pc. :(

  • god damn that a nice male betta

  • lol i wanna start doing that but they dont sell girl bettas around here lol

  • the water level seems a bit high :( could be a reason that the male eats the eggs. If it's too much work for him to pick them up he wont bother

  • haha. . . well they mated like 5x after this video was made and I've got tons of fry now. But thanks for the suggestion

  • The males ate all the eggs. . poop :(

  • wow, took a while for the male to wrap around her. How are the fry now?

  • They were good - I pass them along to another friend of mine. Just concentrating on Salt Water tank now.
