  • Hmmm I thought that didn't sound like a Cliquot organ...

  • I like quiet turbulence.

  • Nice! I didn't know you were an organist, too!

  • At least Vallotti has some intervals that are close to "ideal", unlike equal-temperament which has none. Vallotti is a good compromise tuning, and is versatile. I adore mean-tone tuning, but it has its limits!

  • Vallotti has the problems that all keys do not sound well and it is hard to tune as one cannot precisely know the exact amount of imperfect intervals needed.

It is just a guess. After some years of Valloti I have returned to equal temperment. But I do like mean tone for some works like Bach´s art of fuge because the whole thing is written in d minor.

  • What a fine instrument, and so well suited to this music. What is the tuning system please?

  • Thank you for your comments. It is a fine instrument; the tuning system is that of Vallotti. Unfortunately, I'm afraid it doesn't do justice to the tonal language of L.C.'s music. I'd prefer a mean tone system, but with only one instrument available that might not be practical.

  • Thank you so much for this post. I love organ music, especially when you have an opportunity to see these incredible instruments.

  • Thank you for telling us the organs you show.

Other people do not do that just play organ

music and show pictures of different organs.

I thank you for your common sense.

See Tribute to Karl Richter and look what a

    shame of a video.

  • Lovely Organ and Piece

  • Yes indeed.
