Parker ... one of the Greatest Unsung heroes of the late seventies and eighties.... There is a lot of Parker in a lot of Elvis costello releases.... a real innovator.. Btittnay does have A nicer Patootie than parker though.... just sayin!!!

I too saw the Soundstage TV Show and was hooked!!! Heat Treatment and Howlin Wind 2 of the greatest albums to grace the vinyl needle. I would love to find a copy of the Soundstage show from Chicago..since it's PBS the citizen's should own it.

This guy came out the same time as Elvis Costello, and yet few know who he is. I don't get it.

@JimCimEntertainment Yes, I love Elvis, but Graham is a better singer, and his 70s stuff is better.

What a combination of tension, lyrics, and singing. Add in a world class set of guitar solos by Brinsley, and you have a classic.
This is the song that got me into Graham Parker. I saw them play it on Soundstage, a PBS program from Chicago back in 1977.

Never heard of him before, but heard him on a classic rock radio show. Forgotten...unfairly.

1200 views, 2 (now three) comments for this chilling, angry masterpiece.
And Britney gets a million hits every time she shakes her patootie.
