you should try to find the hbo follow up documentary called kevorkian. you don't know jack doesn't do justice to him, but after you see kevorkian, you really get to see the man. and he was a man of mercy.
Kavorkian also helped people to end their lives before they completely slipped away (you know in a conscience, aware of what you are doing/is happening to you way) because when you get to that point you are essentially a stationary zombie (without the lust for brains)

Assisted suicide should be legalised in extreme cases. If your pet was dying in extreme pain you would take it to the vet and have it put down because it's the "humane" thing to do.... why shouldn't people be treated humanly in the same situations?

However I think there should be a BETTER way to allow people the decision to end there own lives. In the matter of life support we can choose to end support. There should be a board to review requests for "assisted suicide"(I wish there were a better term for this). People to medically evaluate whether it is the best decision or not for that patient.

actually, kevorkian was fired from his traditional job because he was obsessed with death, took pictures of his "clients" as they were dying, and almost half if the people he "assisted" weren't chronically ill or suffering from pain that couldn't be medically treated.

Well, I assume they needed a permit to give food to that many homeless people because of organization. I mean, an inexperienced group throwing food into a crowd of starving people in no organized fashion could end rather poorly. It would make some sense to tell them to get a permit when they have a chance, but arresting them and shutting down the stand in the middle of the day? WTF?

Kevorkian, I think, was not a villain at all. Why should people who are in chronic, constant pain be forced to live through it the rest of their lives just so self-righteous people can feel good about themselves?

Thank you for mentioning Kevorkian in your show. I have heard many pro and con discussions concerning assisted suicide and to be neutral there may never been a consensus on the debate but I was very happy to hear someone like yourself with an opinion concerning the man and the subject of assisted suicide.
