Well, it IS sad that the Bass Guitar is underrated...

I was always driven by the rhythm of the music! Started with guitar, and when I tried the Bass, got hooked on it and I still play occasionally some speed/thrash with my gang!

David is not only a good musician, but a GREAT and intelligent one! For those about to rock - LISTEN to what he says! Everything he says about this instrument is SPOT ON!

@Staminist2010 Bass Guitar isn't underrated. In metal it's just on the 2nd place. That's metal, and you have to deal with that.

@GolecWTF Well, that's not true. Can you imagine how Peace Sells would be without a bass guitar? Or The Right to go Insane? And these are just a few examples. In general, if the bass player is good (meaning you can hear and understand the bass behind all other instruments, nothing to do with volume) he makes the song more powerful.

I love how honest he is about how to get shit done. Like every word that comes out of his mouth is brilliant advice on how to be a good musician. Your a good man Junior, a damn good man. your pointers and tips are always useful.

Even though scooping the mids is not recommended in metal, Megadeth has one of the best mixes of most bands out there so I will trust Dave Ellefson on the fact that the combination of SD pickups and his setup works and makes the bass cut through very well.

@Hearseaholik Agreed! I just met him an hour ago at his first Bass Clinic stop here in San Antonio, Tx. Even though he was on a tight schedule he was super nice to everyone and gave out autographs and took pics with all of us.Megadeth has always been in my top 5 favorite bands and just when I thought I couldn't be a bigger fan I can say that as of today I am.
