  • Thank you Marvin

  • I spent a year living with my grandparents in Pasadena Texas, and I remember watching Marvin every Friday night with grandma and grandpa. Those were the days!

  • growing up, i used to look forward to seeing this dude on the news, every summer when i visited my grandmother in houston... :)

  • I have nightmares about this guy every year on March 13th !!!!!

  • 2 people have sliiiime in the ice machine.

  • He waz such an azzhole.

  • I loved him! I mean I am only a kid, but he was the best News Anchor!! I'ma miss that old guy :( RIP

  • marvin the coldest rest in peace

  • He reminds me of growing up in Houston. He ripped into our high school cafeteria (Aldine HIgh School) having "Sliiime in the ice machine!!" We made fun of our cafeteria for days after that.

    R.I.P.

  • he was such a nice guy. i remember watching him almost every friday night. man that slime in the ice machine gimmick was so catchy :)

  • still a douche

  • I'm watching ABC13 Right now and their fish, Marfin was named after him. I also made a drawing of a fish last summer and named him Marvin Fish. Marvin Zindler will live on.

  • Thank you for making this video. Thank you to everybody repecting him. I knew the Zindler family personally. He was such a kind man. He paid for his deaf grandson (Austin)'s hearing aids. I attended the funeral and it really was a moving expereice. Rest in peace.

  • Legendary

  • We miss you Marvin. You were The Best.

  • I have never even been to Houston, but I've watched plenty of videos of Marvin doing his thing on KTRK. R.I.P.

  • think it was the slime in the ice machine?

... oh shut up. he would've laughed too.

  • ANY true Houstonian (and I consider myself one) would be discouraged at the recent news. Being in school at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln, I'm not as up on the current Houston news as some other people, so it was quite a shock to me when my mother called me today with the news. RIP Marvin, you will be missed.

  • The one and only...may he rest in peace.

  • RIP BOI

  • The greatest memory...Houston was happy to have you. R.I.P.

  • R.I.P MARVIN i always watched slime in the ice machine ;(

  • I grew up with this guy. I remember being 5 (1985), still with that pompadore and blue glasses, in front of the TV saying "Maaaarwin Zindwer. Iiiiiiiiii went to the zoo."

  • That cracked me uP! HAHAHA!!! "IIII went to the zoo.".

Of course, this comment was light-hearted, and Marv can not be replaced. CANNOT.

  • Slime in the Ice Machine Damn I gonna miss those reports nobody can replace that man we all are gonna miss you Marvin.

  • RIP, sir.

  • Marvin Zindler Eyewitness News!

    :]

  • I used to sit in front of the TV and say that over and over again when I was a baby.

    I'll miss him so much!

  • Me, too. I was about 5 maybe older. When I hear his voice I would run into the living room and repeat what he says and then go on my way. lol!

  • LadyDiana79

My mom tells me I use to do the same thing when I was a little boy.

  • I love Marvin Zindler. I met him when I was 12 years old. He was awesome, very humble, and approachable. They don't lie he is definitely the loudest man in television, but he gets his points across. When it comes to businesses, all you gotta do is say "I'll call Marvin on you," and then you get what you want. LOL!

This was unexpected but I know better than that from watching him just the other day from hospice. God bless you folks that were able to see him and thank him before he passed. He's the Saint of Houston!

  • Aw, I love Marvin. =) My dad works at KTRK, and has for most of my life, so I've met him quite a few times. He's so NICE. <3 It's sad about his cancer though. u_u

  • I didn't know this, but he has a lifetime contract agreement with 13. That's amazing. I wonder how much he makes.

  • I too grew up to the "SLIME IN THE ICE MACHINE!!!" quote. Priceless...

  • I'll never forgive him for shutting down the Chicken Ranch. Meddlesome old man, keep your puritan nose out of other people's lives. Plus he's had so many face lifts that his navel is now somewhere under that ridiculous toupee.

  • Someone please post the Slime in the Ice Machine intro clip from Eyewitness News.....

  • <3 marvin.

    he rocks

  • that's why houston is the best ya'll

  • MARVine Zindler! Eyyyyyewitness News.

  • bhratbrat is right! That and his "SLIME IN THE ICE MACHINE" quote defines news reports from when I was a kid.

  • Quickie!

  • Always liked his restaurant reports, where he would tell which restaurants had bad health inspection reports. Places that had ROACHES, RATS, & SLIMT IN THE ICE MACHINE!

  • I meant SLIME IN THE ICE MACHINE!

  • Oh Man, Do I remember the first time I saw him in 1976 on a visit to Houston. I have a Tee-Shirt of him somewhere....What a hoot

  • Hes also a Houston Icon
