I spent a year living with my grandparents in Pasadena Texas, and I remember watching Marvin every Friday night with grandma and grandpa. Those were the days!
He reminds me of growing up in Houston. He ripped into our high school cafeteria (Aldine HIgh School) having "Sliiime in the ice machine!!" We made fun of our cafeteria for days after that.
I'm watching ABC13 Right now and their fish, Marfin was named after him. I also made a drawing of a fish last summer and named him Marvin Fish. Marvin Zindler will live on.
Thank you for making this video. Thank you to everybody repecting him. I knew the Zindler family personally. He was such a kind man. He paid for his deaf grandson (Austin)'s hearing aids. I attended the funeral and it really was a moving expereice. Rest in peace.
Marvin you will be missed so much........RIP.....I will never forget your words..............Marvin Zindler eye witness news and slime in the ice machine........You are one person who made an inpact on all of us................
ANY true Houstonian (and I consider myself one) would be discouraged at the recent news. Being in school at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln, I'm not as up on the current Houston news as some other people, so it was quite a shock to me when my mother called me today with the news. RIP Marvin, you will be missed.
I grew up with this guy. I remember being 5 (1985), still with that pompadore and blue glasses, in front of the TV saying "Maaaarwin Zindwer. Iiiiiiiiii went to the zoo."
I love Marvin Zindler. I met him when I was 12 years old. He was awesome, very humble, and approachable. They don't lie he is definitely the loudest man in television, but he gets his points across. When it comes to businesses, all you gotta do is say "I'll call Marvin on you," and then you get what you want. LOL!
R.I.P. Marv, you helped a lot of Houstonians when no one else would. We really needed a guy like you to stand up for us. You leave a large spot to fill on channel 13.
marvin i fell like i am dreaming please marvin i wish i could see you in my dreams actually in everybodys dream pleas emarvi i wish you woke up and it was just a dream 2 all of us marvin pinch me i must be dreaming xoxoxoxox hugs and kissess as you sleep and may you see god marvi your friend marvin iz a angel ps he is the best of the west can i get a what! what love you may god be with you tonight marvin i wish you were her marvin mabe god tuck you 4 a reson who knows xoxoxox
Thanks for posting it, whomever posted this. I'm gonna miss him too. I was in denial and was hoping he was going to last at least 10 years longer. This was unexpected but I know better than that from watching him just the other day from hospice. God bless you folks that were able to see him and thank him before he passed. He's the Saint of Houston!
Marvin was a legend in Houston broadcasting. He also had a heart of gold as he helped many poor people get needed medical help. He is resting now in the hands of the Lord. May God Bless you Marvin!
This is so very sad for viewers who have watched ABC-13 for so many years. Marvin was indeed a fixture He'll be sorely missed. Thanks for letting us into our own TVs. Marvin was indeed a true character.
Aw, I love Marvin. =) My dad works at KTRK, and has for most of my life, so I've met him quite a few times. He's so NICE. <3 It's sad about his cancer though. u_u
I'll never forgive him for shutting down the Chicken Ranch. Meddlesome old man, keep your puritan nose out of other people's lives. Plus he's had so many face lifts that his navel is now somewhere under that ridiculous toupee.
Always liked his restaurant reports, where he would tell which restaurants had bad health inspection reports. Places that had ROACHES, RATS, & SLIMT IN THE ICE MACHINE!
Thank you Marvin
