Hi Chris, again, thanks. Question. Is this a typical setup (typical/common/beginning settings with your plugins) that you use when mixing vo's and a music mix?
@chrisatkinsdubai Yeah you should lol, please make a few more ... would you be able to do a tutorial for cartoon/machinima voice overs .. to make it sound like the person doing the voice is actualyl in the Cartoon if you kno what I mean .. thanks
@revealer007 - hey, u just highlight some space on the timeline, it'll go grey, then do " alt shift 3" its create blank audio - its called consolidating regions - but if theres no regions it creates blank audio cheers
@sydvive10 - thanks! i think i mention it in the video, but i use waves - q4, rvox, rbass, sometimes i use oxford eq's, for the master i use waves l2, duy wide,
thats it really, but they all kinda do the same thing, its how u use it
hey am from Grenada in the carubbean and am relatively new into sound and my particular interest is voice overs and producing them for radio....i must say that i find this very very informative and hope you can share some more... there isn't much info in that field
Hey this was great yet i still don't understand what the function of the auxiliary track is? Does it really help to put it there? Great video by the way so awesome to see someone actually producing a spot!
@whooisodis , Hey Thanks! :-) all the sfx and music tracks go into the Aux track, which contains the side chain compressor, so when the voice is being heard, all the music and sfx come down, it means u dont have to use volume automation, if ur doing a tvc and the client wants to move the vo around, u can and wont have to keep automating the volumes. Its just really handy to get a music bed to fit nicely around the voice over.
Really great video please do another!

Outstanding tutorial. Probably the best I've seen for using PT for broadcast production.

I got a bit scared about the amount of compression you used on each track :)

Hi Chris, at 2:25 you created an additional mono track with blank audio. How did you create "blank Audio"? THanks.

@revealer007 Specifically, what did you fill that 1 minute piece of blank audio with?
