  • good lesson

  • YOU PLAYED TO FAST FOR A BEGINNER...NOT VERY HELPFULL !!!

  • @7thvenom Our apologies. We will do better next time...

  • @iVideosongs Thank you for taking the time to teach !!!

  • Some where on that minor pentatonic scale, hidden on the 6, 5, 4th strings is a riff from Fear of the dark - Iron Maiden. Thumbs if you found it :)

  • hey guys, if you wanna get familiar with the blues scale i recommend learning some queens of the stone age solo's. Not too fast for beginners but they do help you in understanding how to use the scale :)

  • @OakPark11MileRd this was 2 YEARS ago.. =_=" plus not all people learn as quick as others do.

  • thanks =D

  • nice voice.

  • Great lesson. I want to ask you a question. I can’t exploit the pentatonic boxes as they should, I can only improvise always the same melodic lines and this make my improvisation boring. How can I exploit it better?

  • i just purchase a scale book called "incredible scale finder w/over 1300 scales.

hal ~ leonard published it , i really like it. i have zero scales experience, this book

will put me on the map,i hope!!! hats off to this teacher video.............whiskey

  • some people prefer fingerpicking over using a pick so they grow em out

  • Thank you.

  • OK I'm confused, my understanding of the blues scale (In this case in the key of A) was:

    1 b3 4 5 b7 1

    A C D E G A

In the video Rob mentions adding a b5 to a minor pentatonic to make the blues scale, am I missing something here?

Great video guys, totally appreciate it

  • bluesdog88, What you described (1 b3 4 5 b7 1) is a minor pentatonic scale, which is very similar to the blues scale. All you have to do to make the minor pentatonic scale into a blues scale is add a b5 (1 b3 4 b5 5 b7 1).

  • Blue scales in key of A is A, C, D, Eb, Fb, and G.

  • Rob Schumann!! The master from Atlanta institute of music!

  • yeah... we need to know the pattern of the note... and you need to explain how to use it... not how to explain how other guitarists use it...

  • I'm pretty sure Danny explains clearly how to use it. If you want to see many applications for these scales, look at our "lick of the week" series. Many of them are based on these blues scale patterns. Not sure what you mean by "pattern of the note"? If you need to know where the notes on the fretboard are, check out our "notes on the fretboard" podcast.

  • how will i know the places of the A note..im sorry., im just a beginner!

  • We also have a podcast specifically on learning the notes of the fretboard. That one is essential for beginners.
