Every year i take this flight to visit my family in Chengdu and i know its the only direct connection between my hometown and europe, maybe this is the reason KLM never gives any offer for this flight :-(

it's a ''follow me'' car. Pilots can request these when they are ''unfamiliar with the airport''. If they know the taxiways they don't have to;)

Can you imagine what would happen if 2 airplanes are taxiing on the same taxiway in the same direction? So noses towards each other..

At Chengdu airport all foreign carriers are met by a follow me car after landing. Sort of a job creation thing. When taxiing out they leave you alone.

Hey, Ik ben zaterdag 13juni weer terug in mijn eigen huis met gloed nieuwe beelden. Ik heb al beetje gekeken en ze zijn echt goed en beter. Naar mijn mening. Ik denk dat ik er een week over ga doen, maximaal 2weken. Hij komt onder de naam KLM 809. Schiphol - Kuala Lumpur, Boeing 777-300!! Dus dat wordt wel wat. Hopelijk vinden jullie die ook wat.

Welcome to China. It is awefully polluted. The air usually has this brownish look. There was no wind to speak of during the landing.

Are you sure this was KLM 891? Because I could hear the co-pilot saying to the controller KLM 867 climing 2000 for 60. That would also explain the runway issue ;)

This has been covered before. This little film contains two flights. The main one is indeed KLM891 (KLM892 is the return flight to Amsterdam), and it also contains (the take-off) KLM867 which is Amsterdam-Osaka. There is no runway issue. It is runway 02 at Chengdu, with magnetic heading of 024, which was wrongly interpretated as the runway number.

That is true, the film maker mistook the runway heading for the runway number. There is indeed only runway 02/20 at Chengdu. All in all a nice job done by the 15 year old.

Ja, autopiloot werd er afgehaald kort na de landing omdat er een te grote beweging naar rechts kwam, normaal gesproken gebeurt dit pas bij lage snelheid. De reden voor de autoland was het slechte zicht, en lage bewolking.

KLM was launch customer of the class 3 flight bag developed by Boeing. It allows performance calculations to be done very efficiently. It also means that the flaps selected can be either flaps 5 or 15. The fligth bag comes into view during the video. When it shows up it is showing the security camera view. It also contains our full FCOM documents, and a ground GPS maneuvering system (like a in car navigation system).

That's quite awesome...but I just found it quite peculiar that the Singapore airlines pilot told me that SQ select flaps 15 for takeoff on -200 and -300 models regardless of weight...interesting, eh?

The airport infrastructure in China is improving very quickly. And Chengdu is better than MANY other airports in the world both from the perspective as pilots and passengers. But you are right, Schiphol is a GREAT airport!

Way to pay attention. the vast majority of the movie is indeed KLM891 to Chengdu. But there are small parts inserted from another flight (KLM867 to Osaka). This way it shows a more complete overview of a typical flight. The best video available was used. I think FScentral did a great job. Way to go guys.
