@HemiMr There will be some minor trimming inside the dash, its pretty easy but if you are not comfortable doing the trimming we recommend having a professional do it.
@chorstma44 Most stock head unit does have RCA outputs. If you want to install a subwoofer without removing the stock head unit you will need a Line-Out converter. This will convert speaker channel wire into RCA output. I recommend the Xscorpion LC014.4R. This is the best solution for OEM integration.
@SonicElectronixTV Ok thanks. Can you also tell me if the stock unit out of the ram on this video had rca jacks? Im trying to put a sub in a 09 ram 1500 and need to know if it has the hookups before I proceed. Thank you
@AlienMobster06 Stereos are tricky because often it comes down to what features you want and how much you actually want to spend. Jensen is a solid brand, not the best but by no means the worst. When matching a head unit to a set up you should really look at 2 important factors. First is the RCA preamp put puts, you want 3. This makes installing easier and gives you more options. Second is the preamp voltage, the higher the stronger the signal, which then gives a cleaner sound.
@AlienMobster06 The subwoofers we use in the video are the MTX Audio TT6510-04. The subwoofers are wired in parallel for a final impedance of 2 ohms. The amplifier pushes a total of 600W of RMS power, 300W to each woofer. It's a perfect matchup!
Why do I still see retards thinking that mounting their amp directly to their subwoofer box in the trunk is a good idea? Contrary to their ignorance, electronic circuits do not handle vibration, slamming, jarring etc well. When their caps fault 10 years earlier than they should have, they''ll blame the manufacturer.
i like the install video. hopefully, some of these guys on here will learn a thing or 2 about installing a system that looks like something. i see so many videos where the install looks like garbage. i don't care how loud it gets if it looks likw shit!!!

Does the stock 09 ram head unit have rca outlets? Can you put a sub in one while keeping the stock head unit?

@chorstma44 Unfortunately that particular stock radio does not have RCA outputs. You will definitely need a Line-Out Converter or new head unit.

What type of speaker wire is that?
qrahnt 6 months ago
@qrahnt We used a spool of the following speaker wire, StreetWires UCT1225BL. Unfortunately we no longer sell the spool but we do sell 25ft of cable.

would the jensen vm9312 stereo be a good match for this set up or what should I look for in a stereo to match up?.
AlienMobster06 7 months ago
@AlienMobster06 you should save for something a little better, go for Alpine, Pioneer or Clarion, much better value and build quality
