@Adam008910 - Cabooses are used on locals and yard sets as a shoving platform for reverse moves on most railroads now. The majority of them have had their insides gutted, and windows welded shut. They are literally a shell
It always ticks me off to see people run in front of trains, even slow ones...how does he know that the gates are down for that train and not for a different one coming from another direction?

From what I've heard yes. BNSF has retired it and as well as a few sister GP7s. I wish they would of been kept.
