  • matee ur god thnxx mate real help you still adding videos on youtube. thanks mate oh and have u done yesturday by the beatles wud love to no that.

  • wihgt now hahaha australians i love them

  • very nice...only a couple of small corrections i would make after playing along with the original record:

    1) on the chorus, after the Cmaj7, you hammer on back to a c before going to the e chord. so the chorus goes f,g,c,Cmaj7,c,e,e7.

    2) if you are trying to match exactly the record, you have to tune your guitar down about a half step because the recording is actually much closer to the key of b than c.

    3) on the verses, i personally prefer just an f barre chord instead of the fmaj7.

  • you sir! are a gentleman! a great help tp me with this song! ive posted my attempt thanks very much col68 hope you like!

  • Hi ! I'm just a beginner and this video is really helpful. But what exactly is a C2 and G/B ? Thanks

  • Imagine, God damn good song...

  • g day frank mate the lesson is great i was have a real bad time learning the guitar but since i found you and your lessons its been great my family and friends now say i sound like a guitarist and i have to thank you for that mate take care from big g in edinburgh scotland

  • Really nice teaching, man!!

I'm only a twelve-year-old beginner and i learned this almost overnight!!

  • I reccomend that the little riff is a hammer on. It sounds better.

Also you are doing a cutdown version of the song. You are missing important base notes as well as filling notes. It is good for beggeners but not anything above that.

  • really admire your overall enthusiasm as a guitarist and especially as a tutor. an inspiration. keep it real.

  • Hey, thanks for posting this. I can still remember where I was when I heard John Lennon had been killed. This song still brings tears to my eyes and I've wanted to learn it that long.

Let me be sure I've got the progression right...

    Key of C

    C , CM7, FM7, F, Am, Dm, C2, G/B

    Chorus

    F,G,C,CM7, E, E7

    Gin in Memphis

  • Students paying attention, you gotta luv that!!

Remember it is a Cmaj7 and not minor in the verse as per the video, but i think you meant that anyway! A "G" also after the slash chord G/B. I remember that day :-( ....it was just AWFUL. You need more than a bullet to shut out Johns great work.

    FF
