  • Absolutely fantastic...

  • 2:47-4:22... ALL ABOARD!! To me... Buddy Greene is an unbelievable harmonica player. He kind of looks a little bit like Michael Card. Michael plays the left-handed acoustic guitar.

  • quite good.

  • Pardon me for saying so, but...

    "HOLE-LEEEEEE SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!1"

He played the hell right out of that thing....

All I can say is...far out....!

  • Buddy, I just love watching this great performance over and over again. It is so obvious to me that you live music through and through, I look up to you!

  • This guy should join forces with R&B legend Stevie Wonder. They're both awesome at the harmonica.

  • Genial!

  • Wow! great

  • Amazing.

  • AWESOME! whewwwwww

  • Wait, is that Chuck Norris?

  • Fantastic.

  • That is incredible! Definately by far the best harmonica playing I have ever heard. I could hardly believe a human was producing such great sound from a harmonica!

  • 4:18 is a tiger

  • Mind = BLOWN

  • hell yeah!!!

  • That was a great evening.....5 hours of anointed songs & music. I was there.

  • The first song of the Classical Medley is Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring by Bach, played in 1st position (key of C).

The second song is based on Mozarts Sonata in C, Movement 1 (although here it is played in the key of G, with lots of bending).

The third song adapted from Rossini's William Tell Overture, back in 1st position (key of C) with some high blow bends at the end.

I played a C diatonic harmonica, probably a Meisterklasse, by Hohner.

  • Amazing

  • what is the last song?

  • @TheInventorL William Tell - Overture. Check description.

  • @TheInventorL the lone ranger ;)

  • whats the song?

  • Does anyone know the piece at 2:47? I've heard it in so many cartoons but I don't know the name.

  • @ExterminatusM4A sounds like the 'william tell overature'

  • @FroodySico yes it is the overture from Rossini's William Tell

  • @SmashMat Actually that was Rossini's William Tell overture. Thanks anyway.

  • that is definitely the most amazing thing i've seen in a long time!!

  • Anyone know which notes he is playing (in the first song) for those little trills immediately following the 7-blow, 7-draw, 7-blow part? I am trying to figure it out... but the only notes I can play fast (and smooth) enough to make it work are 8b 7b 6b 5b, or 7d 7b 6b 5b - neither of which sound as good as whatever Buddy is playing here.

  • fantastic very eccellent hi buddy I am a your fan can you sell me wich tone have your Harmonic? i thank you bye!

  • AMAZINGG!!!

  • Buddy Greene goes down in my book as the greatest harmonica player of all time.Even above Larry Adler who had the added luxury of a chromatic instrument.

    Buddy just rocks

  • I'm teaching myself harmonica. I'm not good at it at all. But I just started and I know I'll get better with time.

  • Wow! Buddy Greene, you have brought beauty into the world and made it a better place. Thank you!

  • I was just looking for a video on how to use a harmonica holder for the first time and came across Buddy Greene. Looks like I have a bit of practice ahead of me! Love it! Thanks for posting this video.

  • thanks ! i have heard that before and couldnt remember!

  • The last part of that medley was the William Tell overture by Rossini

  • Does anyone know the name of this last song? Reminds me of an ol western movie!

  • @RedheadProducts

It is the William Tell overture by Rossini, it was used as the theme for the tv series the Lone Ranger.

  • still the best thing on youtube

  • A standing ovation was never more deserved. God only knows when he has time to take a breath. He is genius with his music. He sets the Hall's audience on fire.

  • Get him an orchestra next time. It would be wonderful!

  • I LOVE BUDDY GREEN!!!!!

  • I'd like to know who in their right mind, besides just being a negative person, would DISLIKE this video?! It's amazing! I'd like to see them play better.

  • a very underestimated instrument, i grew up listening to my mom play.

  • No, they are not all the same key.

  • greattt!

  • He is brilliant

  • One might think this is not humanly possible. Oh yes it is and I saw it with my own eyes yesterday at Bill Gaither's concert in Nyhem/Sweden. Buddy Green was unbelievable as well as all the rest.

Thank you Buddy for a tremendously memorable night! You guy were awesome!

  • I just love his presentation. based on his offering I bet you Jesus was clapping His hands. This brings tears for the shear joy of the music God bless you greatly Buddy.

  • I hate to ask, but does anyone know what key his harmonica is in?

  • cant say for sure, but its probably something like a richter tuned chromatic harmonica tuned so that he could play all of those melodies with the same instrument.

  • Hahahaha just got a message from the man himself:

"The first song is Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring by Bach, played in 1st position (key of C). The second song is based on Mozarts Sonata in C, Movement 1 (although here it is played in the key of G, with lots of bending). I played a C diatonic harmonica, probably a Meisterklasse or Golden Melody, both by Hohner. "

  • Fantastic inspiration. On your Jonah & The Whale vid, some folks say you're playing in C, but I can't anywhere near *anything* you do on my C. So my explaicit queries are (a) what key and (b) what position? Many thanks.

  • good

  • harmonica hero baby! yeah!!!!!!!

  • Amazing. They definitely got their money's worth and then some.

  • He was very good and I enjoyed that cause it made me think of my dear uncle who loved playing the harmonica and how he would have liked that. He passed away a few years ago. This man deserves to be seen at more places...I'm sure he put a lot into practicing to get tht good:)

  • anyone knows the name of the piece start at 2:38?

  • It's the William Tell Overture

  • thanks!

  • AMAZING!!!!

  • That was incredible!

  • thats one of the best I've heard by a christian musician - yes he does deserve a standing ovation as he honored the Lord

May the Lord even more to those he has already given - and to those who yield unto Him

  • I didn't know that there was a difference in talent, between a christian musician and an atheist musician.

  • there is no difference in talent - mike - the difference is in who is glorified through the talent.... is it an offering of worship to the one God.. that is all what matters... God bless!

  • i contest a difference between a musician of any religion, and that of none, then. but there is also the matter of inspiration...

  • I think Christians have this joy that shines when they do great things...

  • your right there is no differince.. the difference is who they use it for... the world or Christ

  • That was awesome.
