Weird how Shiva is the semi final boss in the last game, but he somehow ranks up to first boss in the 3rd game, and 7th boss too.

Also, i think Streets of Rage 3 would've been perfect if they made their Very Easy, Easy, Normal and Hard modes equivalent to the Japanese versions and made their Very Hard and even a Mania mode equivalent to the US version so that there would be a balance in difficulty.

Despite this being Bare Knuckle III, i must say you are pretty good with this game i mean Shiva was a pain to fight even on BKIII's Normal difficulty. SOR3's Normal or Hard difficulties are another story.

i have played both versions of streets of rage and i have got to the last battle with shiva in city hall on hard us and hard jap and there is no way you could pic up that much health on that because there are no health pick up for that fight and also you manage to aquire 2 lives YOU ARE CHEATING and the diffulculty was on NORMAL even if you were playing the jap version shiva would be causing more damage then that was potrayed on your video THIS IS FAKE.

If people are so convinced this wasn't played under very hard they should actually try playing the Japanese version. It's obvious that this isn't in English, and I can corroborate that BKIII is leagues easier than SORIII.

I believe him eventhough i havent reached that level but i can backup wat im saying because i played on very hard til the end of the 2nd stage with shiva and i was surprised i could kill the 2 sisters like nothing. i was like "wtf... i killed them faster than i usually do". In fact, they have less lives compared to the US and Euro version.

the hardest mode in bare knuckle 3 is easier than the default setting on streets of rage 3, also that the missing boss ash is in this version, shiva saying final crash and not some kind of japanese, and the "gender neutral" clothes Sega changed for streets of rage 3. this is bare knuckle 3, axel's clothes are yellow in streets of rage 3, he uses his streets of rage 2 clothes in bare knuckle 3. he's not cheating, if he is then search bare knuckle 3 at google.

Because the palette changes to their original colors only appeared in Streets of Rage 3. In the original Bare Knuckle, they retained the same color clothes as in previous games, whereas Streets of Rage three had many changes done, including color changes (Shiva's clothing, female clothing being censored, etc).

@ChoujinStrife There is a reason for that too. The US had a video game renting system; Japan did not. Most kids would not play a game again if they are able to beat a game in one sitting. Back then, the length of a game and longetivity was an issue for most NES, SNES, Mega Drive, and Genesis games. Unfortunately, this resulted in most localized games to be "longer" by increasing the difficulty in really cheap ways.

It's just his Grand Upper move (forward, forward, attack) which has levelled-up (notice the stars under Axel's health bar). To level up you basically just need to keep one life going for as long as possible. Whenever you die - you go back to Level 1 (as in, Axel returns to his default state, not you return to the first stage of the game).

There is another place where u can fight him, that lavel looks like the disco stage, once when I did it with the kangaroo secret chara, somehow that stage came up, and there was shive in light green karate gi! But I used to fight with Shiva as my chara (secret) so maybe that's why I never met him in the game later (two Shivas against each other would be fun, but stupid).

I was playing on Very Hard.

But yeah, the story stops when you battle Robot X on easy, but if you play on normal or higher, you can pass Robot X, and in the level after you can meet 2 outcomes. Since you have to save the Commander/Chief Of Police (depending on verion) you can choose to save him or let him die. Letting him die will lead to this scene.

Also a SOR collection would be awesome, perhaps with a double option to play SOR 3 or Bare Knuckle III, since they are so different.

Ah, I think I just found out why I never saw the upgraded Grand Upper - it didn't occur to me that you were playing Bare Knuckle III, whereas I was playing the PAL version of Streets Of Rage 3. It had the dashing weapon specials, but no amount of points made those stars appear.

However, even though I don't speak Japanese, I may soon get to play Bare Knuckle III - A group called Twilight Translations is apparently making a translation patch. :D

Oh thats actually the "upgraded" Grand Upper.

The stars under the character's life bar means what level it is (It has up to 3 upgrades). The stars appear if you get a certain score, you lose one every time you lose a life. On the Japanese version, its much easier to stay alive, so you can get them easier.

I have read that you can still do them through a command on the six button controller (or something like that).

Not really cause in Bare Knuckle 3, enemy Shiva has a green hue and the playable Shiva has a blue hue. So it's kinda like having a mirror match like a fighting game. There are about 4 mirror matches you could have in this game: Shiva vs. Shiva, Roo vs. Roo, Ash vs. Ash, and Axel vs. Axel (but a robot version.)
