  • The wreck of the old 97 is the worst train wreck in Virginia history. The 97 was the fastest train on the N &W line. The 38 was a passenger train. Spencer is western NC. Monroe is near Roanoke, Va. There are historical markers in Danville where the 97 crashed. This song by Randy Thompson (Clifton, Va.) is great! The song, the wreck of the old 97 was the FIRST million seller. It also was the first lawsuit for copywright infringement. Jim

  • I met this guy and his son out in western Germany last summer...they were really nice folks and even gave me and a friend each a free copy of his cd. Very cool.
