One a side note, even though the glitch with enchanting is patched, you can still make ridiculously overpowered potions, I can make health potions that heal 500hp that are worth more than 5x the cost of the ingrediants.
This is patched on ps3 unfortunatly...just did it and had a gold ring and gold necklace that had 2k carrying weight and right after you make them they drop down to what they normally should be without potion boosting :(

Just did this 2 days ago, works perfectly. He even said that the fortify alchemy effect goes away after the potion wears off. For this reason, while your fortify alchemy effect is beefed up, you create the fortify smithing, enchanting, an alchemy potions.
The game does get boring after this; I just did it to show some friends.
Also it takes a awful lot of time to gather the Ingredients like the fishes..vendors only stock like 1-3 of them...any quicker way to pile up alot of ingredients
@iluvpichu - if you are rolling over to 4% then you are going too high. if you start off at only 4% this means you don't have the basic requirements skill, perks, etc.

Just did it on xbox patch 1.4, achemy at around 55ish no perks, 4 items with 23ish fortify alchemy, repeating this process around 15 times got me a 346% enchant potion, so this definetly work on xbox. Also when he said it breaks the game he meant it in the sense that the game becomes too easy since you will be one shoting enemies with melee/bows, but remeber his warning about overdoing it and going into negative numbers.

@Tappe70 - well, i was saying less enjoyable in that there is absolutely no balance or challenge anywhere, but it can break the tradeskills on your playthrough without repair if you go too high and start re-equipping gear with other effects.

I think Bethesda patched this. After 1.4 on the PS3 I can't get restoration potions above 299% fortification. So my Fortify Enchanting potions only go up to 32% now.

@AssassinKuya - you want to use the restoration boost to make enchanting & smithing potions with insane percentages. then let restoration wear off (unequip all the gear you reequipped and use 'wait' for one hour) and drink the boosted potions to make perm gear
@periwinkle102 - yeah it is fun for an hour or two but the damage gets boring. i'd advise either adding a few hundred unarmed damage to play a viable unarmed build, or use it simply for carry weight + adding health to followers/thralls. it can also be fun to add long duration paralyze enchants to your weapons or make all of your schools of magic cost 0 magicka.

Heres what you should do: Make the fortify restoration potions as needed, then make an enchanting potion. Make sure you have something to enchant, a soul gem, and the fortify alchemy enchant. Drink the enchant potion, and enchant the item with fortify alchemy and you neeeever have to do the whole potion thing again.
This went great the first time around. I did really well and didn't have a high alchemy skill at all. (Note: I was mainly doing it level up my alch.) So I decided I wanted to make some stronger ench/smith potions. So I go throw on the same previous alchemy equipment I used last time. And nothing. Nada. I stay stuck at 4% each and every time.. Not sure if this is a patch affecting it or what, but I'm not risking any game saves so I don't know what to do. Any suggestions?
The restoration potions % only lasts 60 seconds so make sure you have enough ingredients to get it to a high % then make your smithy and enchant potions...I made the mistake of wandering around looking for more restoration ingredients to make it even higher but when i got back to the alchemy table the restoration potion was back at base level.
i've tried doing this on a level 1, so im not using any skill points, thing is my alchemy is 48 i have 4 sets of 12% alchemy gear which is minor and goes up slow but it stops at around 40-45 and goes down then up to the same again
@GForce923 - using the Restoration to boost armor is temporary. Use it to make enchanting/alchemy potions instead. you can use those boosted potions any time you want and the stats made from those will be permanent.
Ahh!! Now I get it. I was confused at first because I didn't know about deselecting and re-equipping armor to lock a potion effect so I thought it was critical to the process (sure would save some hassle though!)
@iiModiifyii Not if ur save file has already been saved on the updated patch, it wont load the save file coz its a different version, you could make a new character to do it tho. But either way there is absoloutley no need in doing this glitch its pointless, will make the game extremley boring.
PLEASE HELP: does this still work? My enchantments were 8% better potions made. It works somewhat and went to 10%. then 11%. I did the exact same thing but it went back down to 10% and just stayed there. My alchemy was only 27 and my enchanting was 62. Does it need to be high/perks? or does this just not work anymore?

I agree, this does break the game...and while its tempting it would be pathetic and cheap to use something like this glitch to create a god character. i mean you can create an insanely strong character without glitches anyway.
@22Lucid then keep and old save, then do this use oghma to get destruction perks that improve shock spells, make a ring that makes destruction spells cost nothing and blast away with the lighting storm spell, ka hame ha all day long..
The glitch does break the game. But, for those who like to power level skills, I imagine it would be useful to use these items a couple of times and then toss 'em in the bin.
@pms00 It may not be patched, but he's saying that so much attention gets paid to things like this while so little is paid to things like the Laid To Rest quest, where if you attack Thonnir one time you have to go through the entire dungeon again, as he will attack you.
I just did this to get infinite carrying potential. Everything else I used it for made the game unfun to play, but infinite carrying (really just 70k carrying) made the game MUCH more enjoyable.
@ThatChubbyDude - completely agree. i also used this to boost the health of followers until i found out about the wabbajack fix. otherwise, the fun wears out fairly quickly.

I think Bethesda patched this. After 1.4 on the PS3 I can't get restoration potions above 299% fortification. So my Fortify Enchanting potions only go up to 32% now.

@periwinkle102 - yeah it is fun for an hour or two but the damage gets boring. i'd advise either adding a few hundred unarmed damage to play a viable unarmed build, or use it simply for carry weight + adding health to followers/thralls. it can also be fun to add long duration paralyze enchants to your weapons or make all of your schools of magic cost 0 magicka.
the key is to use this for utility, not god mode.

I visited everywhere early in game this sucks because all npcs level locked to low level so I cant really go to outside cities/towns orc stronghold dragons kill too many npcs so Im just gonna use this for those situations to protect npcs otherwise I will kill dragons normally rest of time lol.....

Heres what you should do: Make the fortify restoration potions as needed, then make an enchanting potion. Make sure you have something to enchant, a soul gem, and the fortify alchemy enchant. Drink the enchant potion, and enchant the item with fortify alchemy and you neeeever have to do the whole potion thing again.

This went great the first time around. I did really well and didn't have a high alchemy skill at all. (Note: I was mainly doing it level up my alch.) So I decided I wanted to make some stronger ench/smith potions. So I go throw on the same previous alchemy equipment I used last time. And nothing. Nada. I stay stuck at 4% each and every time.. Not sure if this is a patch affecting it or what, but I'm not risking any game saves so I don't know what to do. Any suggestions?

The restoration potions % only lasts 60 seconds so make sure you have enough ingredients to get it to a high % then make your smithy and enchant potions...I made the mistake of wandering around looking for more restoration ingredients to make it even higher but when i got back to the alchemy table the restoration potion was back at base level.

i've tried doing this on a level 1, so im not using any skill points, thing is my alchemy is 48 i have 4 sets of 12% alchemy gear which is minor and goes up slow but it stops at around 40-45 and goes down then up to the same again

@GForce923 - using the Restoration to boost armor is temporary. Use it to make enchanting/alchemy potions instead. you can use those boosted potions any time you want and the stats made from those will be permanent.

@iiModiifyii Not if ur save file has already been saved on the updated patch, it wont load the save file coz its a different version, you could make a new character to do it tho. But either way there is absoloutley no need in doing this glitch its pointless, will make the game extremley boring.

PLEASE HELP: does this still work? My enchantments were 8% better potions made. It works somewhat and went to 10%. then 11%. I did the exact same thing but it went back down to 10% and just stayed there. My alchemy was only 27 and my enchanting was 62. Does it need to be high/perks? or does this just not work anymore?

I just did this to get infinite carrying potential. Everything else I used it for made the game unfun to play, but infinite carrying (really just 70k carrying) made the game MUCH more enjoyable.
