My grand mom used to sing Jersey City to me when I was a little girl!! Sort of morbid I know. I have been searching everywhere for years for the source of most of the words I had remembered and then finally...its here! This group nails it! I am actually a new fan starting today after hearing them!!
Not familiar with Cordelia's Father until now. Great thing about YouTube, you can just surf into something exciting. They are really hard to catagorise though: Folk; Folk-Rock; Indi; mainstream rock; avante gard?
haha no mean guitar but a beautiful voice lol

Shape note singing, punk rock, and a sweet Rickenbacker bass... What's not to love about Cordelia's Dad?

Could the lead singer sound any more like Richard Thompson?

This was fun to see. Thanks much for posting it.
This band, with its eclectic nature, reminds me of a Walt Whitman quote: "I am large; I contain multitudes."

This is great to find. My two loves, Shape Note singing and Alex Chiton (Children by the million scream for....) in one band. My dream, thanks.
