My uncle saw this, he was actually eating far in front of the tent from the other side, he saw the plane crash into the concrete, drag for about 50m and then stop, a fire line was made from the crash , he say that the concrete in the first impact melt due to high temperature.
I was there before it happened. I was about ready to go to the t-shirt vendor, but I had to make sure I got my buddy back to PLDC on time(in Landstuhl), so we left early. We got back home(housing, in Vogelweh)...it was a ghost town..all the cars were gone...we found out what happened, and rushed to Landstuhl to donate blood...Unreal...My ex-wife was a volunteer at the hospital, and saw some horrible things...7 seconds.....everyone that was there had their live's changed forever.
I wish the Reno one had been more at this level. Not that I want people to die at all. But I mean . . . we have much better camcorders these days, and it would look pretty awesome.

@hcsteere I was there too with my husband and 2y/o son, we also were in the spectator area and I asked my husband to let us walk towards our car, he stopped at beer tent and got a beer, we walked a little further and then it happened and the beer tent also was in flames, we purchased water n sodas, and gave them away - while others were selling for profit, we were all stranded and the bx would not sell to the German people and it was hot that day. What a nightmare it was.
I finally got up the courage to look at footage of this day. I still don't know how to feel about it. I sympathize with people and families who have experienced nightmares like this because of war. It is odd to me that we were on a military base celebrating a display of aviation power and we experienced something that felt like the receiving end of war. I've been haunted by that parallel ever since and the pride that mounts up around any nation's military showmanship involuntarily sickens me.

I may be late getting to this, but my father just recently told me the story of this crash. He was one of the firefighters who watched this happen from the other end of the runway. He told me what it was like to respond to such a grand scale disaster and could still remember every graphic detail. To actually see the video of what my daddy witnessed and endured makes my heart ache. That could have been Daddy. God Bless him and all the victims.

My heart breaks seeing the horrible images in this video, not only for the people there who lost their lives, but for their families and for the ones who were there that day helping the victims and having to witness all of that first hand. @pooran411 .....Go to Wikipedia & type "Ramstein Airshow Disaster." I was stationed not far from there when it happened. I had friends (fellow soldiers) who were there & assisted the wounded. They came back to the barracks in a state of shock.
@MadDisciple- I was 7 when that happened and remember seeing footage of it on the evening news. It was nothing short of absolutely horrifying to me as a young child seeing it on television. I can't even begin to imagine what it was like for the people who were actually there. God bless your father who did what he could to help others around him who were in need.
I feel very sorry for the loss of human lives that day, and while I love Rammstein, and do understand that they named themselves in honor of this event, I don't think that makes it tasteful to put their music over video of the event. But in the presence of people who witnessed it, I felt that I would be quiet and be careful not to say words that offend them. I was there, I was 7, my brother was badly hurt, I thought he had died. He was sitting behind a plastic rope that cut into his arm (pulled by the plane advancing far on the left) and he was almost paralysed falling back! Now he has a thin arm full of scars n metal inside! This video makes me cry. I suffered in my childhood, had nightmares seeing planes crash!! And Rammstein music (so many people love) sounds like evil magnetism, enthusiasm about horror films. This group hurts me so much.

The song is not titled "You Smell So Good", nor are those lyrics in that song. The song is entitled "Rammstein". It is spelled differently, but it is about the air show disaster in Ramstein. You are correct though in that the song is a graphic depiction of this event.
I agree that the manner in which this video is presented is in rather poor taste.

And as I have written earlier, I am aware that the song in this video is called "Rammstein" and is about this disaster. Somewhere further down in the comments I have already corrected my mistake and translated the actual lyrics.

@666Leosch Fucking idiot. The song is by the German musical group Rammstein, its about the accident at THIS airshow, and this is what the band is named after! In fact at one point they performed using the name "Rammstein-Flugschau" meaning "Rammstein-Flightshow".

i was at this show when i was 9 years old and can remember it very well. myself and my family were right up front in the crowd that was watching this air show. but i find it was a total miracle that because it was a hot day..myself & my older brother had complained enough for my parents to give in & have us all go get some snacks & make bathroom breaks. just when i was waiting for rest of my family by the porta-potties did i see all hell break loose. total freak accident..but glad to be alive!

I was only 3 years old at the time this happened and this is the first I've ever heard about this. My heart breaks seeing the horrible images in this video, not only for the people there who lost their lives, but for their families and for the ones who were there that day helping the victims and having to witness all of that first hand. May God bless them and those who passed away!

@pooran411 .....Go to Wikipedia & type "Ramstein Airshow Disaster." I was stationed not far from there when it happened. I had friends (fellow soldiers) who were there & assisted the wounded. They came back to the barracks in a state of shock.

@MadDisciple- I was 7 when that happened and remember seeing footage of it on the evening news. It was nothing short of absolutely horrifying to me as a young child seeing it on television. I can't even begin to imagine what it was like for the people who were actually there. God bless your father who did what he could to help others around him who were in need.

I feel very sorry for the loss of human lives that day, and while I love Rammstein, and do understand that they named themselves in honor of this event, I don't think that makes it tasteful to put their music over video of the event. Just my two cents. Could be worse though, could've been Doom music.

Some of the people who commented here was actually there, I was going to say something about how horrible this all was. But in the presence of people who witnessed it, I felt that I would be quiet and be careful not to say words that offend them. Accidents like this is horrible, especially when the people who were injured or died was among those spectators or the pilot himself who has a family.

When my dad got into the Air Force, one of his first jobs was to 'clean up' Ramstein. His order was that anything that looked like a body part, place a long poll-flag next to it so that a clean up crew would come out and remove it safely because of the hazardus chemicals would've harmed them if theyd touched it.
He said it was horrible. :(

I was there, I was 7, my brother was badly hurt, I thought he had died. He was sitting behind a plastic rope that cut into his arm (pulled by the plane advancing far on the left) and he was almost paralysed falling back! Now he has a thin arm full of scars n metal inside! This video makes me cry. I suffered in my childhood, had nightmares seeing planes crash!! And Rammstein music (so many people love) sounds like evil magnetism, enthusiasm about horror films. This group hurts me so much.
