It is very simple: The English are well...'English' and come from a Germanic origin, whereas the Welsh,Cornish and Scottish are ethnically Celtic. Two different cultural groups from similar regions of Europe. What confuses the issue is that populations speak English in the Celtic regions and to someone not educated in such things, it appears that they are also English. Which is untrue completely. Historically, linguistically and even genetically these groups are divided. Ok? Case closed?
