All of you must understand one thing: Vladimir lost becuase he was more active but did not knock Ross early, that is why he lost breath and got beaten. Ross played a very clever and strong fight. Vladimir simply underestimated him. When you throw so many punches a round and your opponent is still standing, then later you just loose it
I thought Ross Puritty fought kind of like Joe Frazier in this fight. He kept coming forward with his hands up & when he got the chance to hit him he would try to hurt him. Joe Frazier has way more head movement & throws punches in bunches than Puritty.
Ross was a truly magnificent journeyman. Do not disrespect his achievement, Wlad may be boring as paint drying , but he is one of the best 10 in history.

However, Klitschko got in punches like that throughout the whole fight but Puritty didn't go from pilar to post because of his ability to take hits.(And that is an important part of boxing no doubt!) So after a whole match of getting outboxed, he suddenly gets in some hits, Klitschko gets dizzy and Puritty gets in some hits and the trainer stops fight, which happens ALL the time.

But I just attribute his win to that one punch - he done nothing beforehand. He didn't move well to avoid the punches - he took them all well because he was still standing. The fight was in Wladimir favor before it even started. It was a farce. This has been the norm when ever anyone fights the Klitschkos they will be cheated.

Klitschko should have at least went to the body throughout the fight. He's a terrible glove defender at this point, and it was just a matter of time until this happened. Purity took away the jab most of the time, but Klitschko refused to work the body. I don't think he necessarily had to take some juice off of his shots, just put them in the right spot.
Wlad is clearly gassing badly in round 7, Ross really seems to sense it to. Wlad doesnt know how to take some steam off his punches or clinch every now and again to save energy. Hes trying to forcefully stop this man from walking him down, and he cant do it.Big ups to Ross, he is really tough.

@helganatt to say he won without skill is to try and cheapen his victory, since if you notice puritty had great defense for a straight ahead fighter. he worked behind a peek a boo defense and was able to absorb most of the power of wladimir on his gloves that is a great strategy! one that required skill and cunning to pull off. it he had just stood there and let wlad hit him square on the chin a bunch of times he would have been knocked out good chin or not

Puritty doesn't win because of world class boxing skills, but a good defense and a tough chin(a good tactic which suits his abilities) which isn't easy to pull off no doubt... I'm not hating on Puritty, he's a good boxer but I think Klitschko is far better. However, he did lose, but no boxer goes through a career without a loss however good he might be...

@helganatt my coaches in high school used to say "the best offense is a good defense" and i believe that is still true today you can say what you want and try to detract from ross's victory by distortion of the events but the fact remains that ross took wlads full measure giving as good or better than he got and using his skills, intelligence and generalship he trashed wlad. the klits now have the best trainer in boxing history in emmannuel steward. i guess you want to dispute that fact too

@helganatt it is obvious to me that you are not a fan of boxing but merely a "super psycho fan of the klits" with cloudy judgement. you see a klit get kayoed and out manned and all you can do is praise the klit! the klits are very defensive fighters especially since they have been under steward's tuteledge they "fight tall" meaning they stand upright out of the reach for the most part of opponents punches and work behind the jab mostly grabbing or pushing opponents when they get too close.

Klitschko should have at least went to the body throughout the fight. He's a terrible glove defender at this point, and it was just a matter of time until this happened. Purity took away the jab most of the time, but Klitschko refused to work the body. I don't think he necessarily had to take some juice off of his shots, just put them in the right spot.
