Man, that' some hard stuff! As a personal trainer, I really appreciate the importance of variety in your workouts, and adding kettlebell exercises, which had fallen out of favor, is a great idea!
@pistoff33 The kettlebell has it's place. I found the strength I got from this was way more "functional" for martial arts and life in general than most anything else. There are a lot of holes though if you try to use this as you're only form of strength and conditioning. If anything, just incorporate a few exercises into your current plan. Even the biggest skeptics can appreciate it for it's cardio benefits if nothing else.
that is so awesome! I can't even hold my kettlebell with one hand the way you did doing that turkish getup. WOW. This is some serious motivation! Another motivation I get is from tracking my progress using the data I get from sites like "my fit assist" and using the calculators there. I can throw the data into an excel spread sheet and graph my progress. It helps a LOT before I can see my results visually.
@wollenschrank how the hell is that boring?? Have you tried it??? If you don't like kettlebell why are you watching the videos?? These videos are awesome and the workouts kick ass!!!
yo man... I'm a big fat punk rt now... started like a girl with a 25lbs bell... jumped to a 40lbs bell and am gettin my ass kicked... ironically i'm much better with a 35lbs bell (much better - cardiovascular system sucks i have no wind at all and dont seem to recover in between attempted sets). any tips on how to get my recovery between sets up?
@destrian - You can try "active recovery"... instead of sitting down between sets, try some joint mobility exercises to keep your blood pumping. Other than that, just try to keep a consistent workout plan going and you'll gradually improve your endurance. Good luck!
@MBodyStrength will give it a try... jumping rope has been killing me but i'll stick with it inbetween kettlebell sets. Do you think active recovery using a medicineball on a rope doing swings would be a good active recovery method?
OMG! That is no joke, great, work man, course for us intermediates, we can modify the weights and work up to the kb weights used in this vid...Impressive!
I have just been doing these circuits for the past few weeks (I have done kettlebell training prior) and holy moly do they kick your ass. Im up to four complete run throughs of the circuit, next week I move onto all five. Nice routines to incorporate into a cross-fit schedule.
Very good! I'm going to do this workout. I just started using KB's to help burn belly fat. I really like exercising with KB's-great for cardio conditioning.
those are some crazy exercises. definitely gna have to giv it a try. esp the gladiator press that looks like a killer core exercise. just a question thou..the snatch and catch looks awesome, but what benefit does it rly giv vs a normal snatch or two kettlebell snatch? does it improve coordination or somethin?
I have mad respect for you man! Is there a K-Bell circuit that will help me to build muscle, without leaning me up?? Sorry if it's a stupid question! LoL
thanks man! Try some double kettlebell work. Keep the reps lower and the rest longer just as you would with "traditional" gym workouts. Double clean and presses, alternating rows, double swings are all good. Like I said, keep the reps lower. Don't go more than 8 or so. Hope that helps.
Ok... got through the circuit 4 times, barely, with only 8k kettlebells because balance I can't balance with my 16kg (and am not confident yet to try snatch-to-catch in my apartment) w/that weight! Plus my grip needs work for the TGUs.
Ok... got the snatch catches almost perfected w/16kg. What do you think of the 2-handed anyhows the way Pavel does them on the Russian KB Challenge? He almost 'windmills' them.
I like to make it more of an overhead squat. Nothing wrong with that but when you get into the heavier weights, you get a much greater range of motion and better workout (in my eyes) to have to squat vs windmillin' Try them both and see what works for you. Whichever one you prefer, stick with it and try to go up in weight.
Really liking those Gladiator Presses, will have to try them out once I'm back from my holidays! Keep up the good work mate, and nice work on the 40kg snatch!
Like it, I really like it. Intervals and circuits are the way to go. Those gladiator presses look sick, I have been through so many kettlebell books and videos, not to mention my CPT stuff and I have never seen them before.
Gladiator Press!!! Finaly someone else that does them. Sweet complex. Right now All I am working one is getting my double snatches with the 32kgs into triple digits.

@SitnGoChallenge If they hit your knee, your knee loses, big time. Otherwise, no problem.

The snatch and catch is a great one for hand eye coordination and is just something to add, not replace the snatch and double snatch.
