This is a great version and Cyndi is such an underrated singer and performer. Etta did the definitive version but this is very close. As for Christina - that was just awful. Who thought that was a good idea?!

@francisshen, cyndi lauper's version was great! Christina's version was more real to the song, because that's they way you suppose to sing an Etta James's song. When she was alive and she heard beyonce's version, and didn't like it because she didn't sing the way it suppose to be sung to act as her. Artist like Christina, Patti, Etta, etc..always sung like this. These songs have been the style of most black songs of the past, and they are more REAL to them and fans of their music.
