OOOOOH ! YOU PEOPLE ARE TERRIBLE TALIKING LIKE THAT SAYING THERE'S NO GOD AND USING THE N WORD, AMONG SOME OTHER HORIBLE THING THAT I JUST READ , SHAME ON YOU ,I CAN TELL WHERE YOUR GOING !
i absolutley love this song , i'd like to dedicate this commercial and song to a store manager of burger king that i worked with way back in the 80's even though this person is no longer around in my life ,the memory still lingers on , so this is for her wherever she is.
i was 10 years old when this commercial came out, i forgot about it until i saw it again and it all came back to me , i loved the song back then and i love it even more now , i had no idea back then that when i became a teenager that i would end up working there for half my life .
This isn't the Burger King I grew up with. This is something I would expect from McDonalds. I always thought of BK to go with the more liberal approach that wreaks to the culture of the hip modern youth, being the one famous for expanding their menu and catering more to each individual customer, unlike the conservative, traditional, good old fashioned American mass produced fast food restaurant image McD's is notorious for, now with a sever lack of commas. I'm SO getting thumbs down for this.
I say that, because they are the radical extremists that do NOT believe that all people should live in peace and quiet. They are modern day Crusaders, who DEMAND you believe as they do (It's the ONLY correct belief) and will force their beliefs upon you with violence and bloodshed, if necessary. Read the Koran. It says of itself, that anything written is to be ignored if a later passage contradicts it. The later part of the Koran is the angry part. Thus, the violence inherent in the religion.
Jesus Christ WAS a living, breathing person, but he was "The Beatles" of his day. He was what was wanted and needed then. He was nothing more than a prophet, the same as all the other before and after. Flesh and blood. There is not ONE religion that has it all right, even though they ALL have SOME of it right. Religion is a way to make a person feel good about himself, thus allowing those around him to live their own lives in peace and relative safety. Until the Muslims enter the picture.
There is no god. We are animals just like all the other animals, and when my physical machine stops working, that's all there is. No afterlife, no coming back, no spirit. The bible is a fairy tale, and EVERYTHING in it can be explained away with science and hard, well-know facts of today. Back then, certainly, it was "miraculous" and "spiritual", but it's JUST a book, written by MANY men's OPINIONS of what they've seen and heard. Keep your "faith", I'll rely on what I can touch and know.
This commercial shows that back then Niggers were civilised. What happend to black America? They are all gang banging crack smoking baggy clothes wearing rapping animals. Thats what happens when you give a nigger too many rights
@TheBossMalaka the person who posted this is what's wrong with this country. the mindset that writes racial slurs like this is very sad. but GOD loves this person too.
@mogulsports back in the 1970s, '80s, and early '90s, Americans were more active than they are now. I grew up during that time, and as a kid, my eathing habits were not great at all. But we got out and played. Back then, it was punishment when we couldn't go outside. Now my cousin, my age, has to force his tween kids to go out!!!

The singer on this commercial is Florence Warner, not Judy Collins although there is some similarity between their voices and that of Bonnie Kolack. Florence gets my vote as the greatest commercial singer of all time, male or female -- and that includes barry manilow. She also did "Sealy Posturepedic" and Dorman's cheese, if memory serves. Voice of an angel.

i agree that there wasnt much obesity in the 70s because people were more active and there were no computers or cellphones so pple got out and did stuff
I lived through the 1970s those were good time the Disco and afro hairdo and Saturday Night Fever and Star War and Jimmy Carter with his crooked smile LOL
Obesity rate back in the 70s was low but now in 2010 alot of fat people in the U.S.A. to much stuff they put in the fast food is what making everyone fat!
from 0:48-0:53, this jingle sounds a lot like another from the same period for earthborn shampoo - - "when it gets right down to basics, i'm a down-to-earthborn girl." i'm guessing the one jingle inspired the other, or maybe they were by the same composer. does anyone know?
It's strange, the 1970s was considered a dark time when it was happening, now it seems strangely warm and nostalgic by many. Then again, 2010 hasn't exactly been a great year so far...
@MattTheSaiyan i wasn't alive in the 70s but it looked like people were much caring than today....of course there were those dark times, every decade has its dark times.
Just think of all the wierd chemicles, bacteria, vaccines, altered DNA, cloned meat in the burgers today. I wouldnt touch it today. Was good back in the day though.
Long live the 70s man! I live them every day of my life, and the last timee I went to Burger King, I walked in wearing bellbottoms and platform shoes with my big fro and I asked the girl, "If I wanted a whopper and asked you to hold the pickle and hold the lettuce, would I get to hear you sing?
Given the recent healthcare passage this commercial is oddly funny. We may have our differences but who besides a vegetarian does not like a good burger.
There are only a few occasions in history that I would have loved to be around for, such as The Revolutionary war, the Sixties and this, around the time of the Bicentenary! (To be truthful I was alive when America celebrated her 200th but was only 13 months old and way, way Down Under hehe!!!) But anyway, love this song and love the advert!!!
:29- wait a minute...4 open registers?? Mine usually only has 1 open, and they keep taking orders and no one gets their food until there is around 7 angry people waiting!! Love the commercial though!
@boardskins LOL, more marketing happened and more opitions happened and more preservatives in our foods which actually slow down our metabolisms, and americans tended to do little to no exercise once they got out of highschool, the end result a generation of mostly overweight people.
@22centman36 I think there are fewer educated people, although marketing and availability is a big cause.
People DO become slaves to the additives, however. Read up on MSG. It's a neurotoxin that is used in practically every processed food, especially fast food. I'm allergic, so I avoid it (although it's getting harder to do so).
How come theres no fat people in any of the Fast Food commercials? If you go into any of them places today i will bet that theres over 50% of the people there that are overweight.
Back when this was made, adult and childhood obesity weren't the problems that they are now. Most people still ate meals prepared at home which were certainly more nutritious than a fast food joint. Of course, people were also a lot more physically active back then, too. Nobody was vegging out in front of the TV playing Xbox for hours at a time.
@AngryDeli I remember being a small child in the 70's, going to the Burger King up the street, and thinking how doofy those uniforms were. I thought my cardboard crown was great, though.
Back when this commercial was out, Burger King hamburgers were awesome! Now, they taste like warmed over fecal matter! Either that, or I had bad taste in food when I was 5....
I think that MC, King, Wendy, KfC ecc ecc have poisoned usa people since they exist. I am italian, and I can say that nobody can find good food in a fast food.
i still love it and im still listening to it some things just never change.
