I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and tank clean and rustfree
I am 17 and bought a 1982 Datsun 280zx last year with my own hard earned money. I plan on NEVER selling it. I can't wait if God allows me to have it all the way until i pass away. That would be the thing of beauty for me. Having my very first car when ive all grown up and am 80years old. Thats my dream and goal.
@heathlive Well, the 1500 was the first car I ever owned and it was not in great shape (I paid $100 dollars for it in 1970). I broke the timing chain on the 2000 racing out of a toll booth in the Garden State Parkway and didn't have the money to repair it (I was a poor college student). I owned the Fairlady for over 10 years and wanted to keep it, but kids and houses cost money!
I had a chance to buy a Datsun 2000 for about $500 back when I was in college in the 1970's, but didn't have the money. It was at Forresters in Chambersburg PA I think.
my dad has a couple of Fairlady 2000 Roadsters. what is the difference between those and this SR311? is the SR311 a high performance JDM only version? either way SICK car, GREAT video! they don't make cars like these anymore!
Beautiful car. As a kid my next door neighbor had a 69' 2000 in grey with Panasport wheels along with an 88' Porsche 944. Lucky guy. His Datsun 2000 was the first roadster I ever got a ride in. I'll never forget it. I drive a 2000 Honda S2000 now and would like to pick up an SR311 someday to go along with it. Thanks for posting.
Hehe, we've got one of these, my dad 'did it up'. however, that engine bay's nothing ;)
Decent speed too (considering the price) not to mention you can fix almost anything that goes wrong with them on the side of the road with just a toolbox (their not what i would call reliable, since they are old and always have something falling off of them)
hahahaha i agree with MagicAyrtonforever and tamakisanmafia on this one....veeeeeeerrrryy nice Fairlady....they are so rare. btw cameras are ghey...and nitrous?? why need nitrous when u can have all motor baby:D dumb bottle fed baby cars anyways.
This car is around 40 years old and still cool. Your Cavalier will be scrap steel before it's 15 years old. Older cars had real style and class most newer ones, (especially Cavs)look like a half-melted stick of butter.
my uncle had a fairlady 2000 but it was brown lol

i think the SR311 is just the designation for the 2000, they also have the SRL311, and the 1600 from the same generation was the SPL311/SP311
