The easter egg is not a easter egg. The easter egg fires the beams because thats what bungie used to make it look like the guardians are killing you. It is simply the device that fires it. Its impossible to get to it so they make it look like its the guardians. Bungie wernt going to dress up something to look like what its supposed to be if you cant even see it.

i think the lasers trigger where the mines raise... sometimes i'd drive around the minefield with a warthog and outrun the mines. when i do that i notice a random laser that's easy to miss, point at me with mines coming up right away afterward.

One time my friend showed me this glitch where you get outside the map and out to one of the towers and when we got to the base of that same tower, he told me to grab a sniper rifle and look up. so i did and then i saw this thing like a little ball that was DEFIANTLY NOT the egg because it was too small to be but it looked like a moniter. it was right behind the tower and i think that that is the source of the lazer like when sargent johnson dies from the oracles lazer. we think its a guardian.

from headhusky99 I know what the towers are they are a key. All of the towers haft to shoot at you to unlock the golden warthog. But just jump right in get some friends because the flood are guarding the warthog. So get me and my friends me and my friends are going to go to war agenst them but they do infect you. And there are two golden warthogs 1 is a decoy and one is not so get me and my friends.

A lot of games have stuff like this. What the lazor does is sort of a self-defense system from hacking. It's hard to explain exactly what it prevents, but it makes it so you don't f*ck up the map to bad. I think Bungie just wanted to show it in action. For example, Runescape has a self defense system like this where if there's any hacks/mods, something like this happens where it "scans" whats going on and shuts it down.

I was making a random base, and my antenna fell halfway into the mine field, so I walked along it and for 2ish seconds, the mines didn't activate, then lazers came and shot the mines, and I blew up :P don't think any one them hit me.

Aparantly, after a certain amount of tries they turn the wathog gold. (I haven't seen any proof except bunjie.net photos) BUT why would bunjie create an object to trigger/activate the mines without a reason to. Why not just have it so do when the player's instance is outside of a certain area the mines go off.

Just to let you know. The orange beam comes from the Da-vin-chi egg (didnt know how to spell it so I spaced it out) Not the tower. The egg is not an easter egg but THE guardian it has A.I. and is programmed to trigger the mines. I know this because on both sandbox and sandtrap Me and my friend watched the egg while another friend ran and played in the mine feild. Every shot came from the egg. The beam can NOT hurt you for it is setting off the mines which are trigger by that laser only.
