  • How much is this in Japan?

  • I want it .-.

  • If only sega tries again, maybe it could be a success.

I mean, their last arcade boards have awesome graphics, why not?

  • @dankuro97 Their latest arcade boards are just PCs. That said, consoles surely will be forced to follow suit and become PCs too eventually.

  • wow it can be tv too

  • @jowrab I meant that they released it too soon after their previous console failure.

  • Dreamcast probably had the best 1st party support of its generation. They had all of the arcade titles imported (crazy taxi, house of the dead, daytona, etc), they finally delivered a 3D Sonic (Adventure was actually good), plus they were pushing the envelope with stuff like Jet Set Radio, Rez, Samba De Amigo, Phantasy Star Online, etc). Unfortunately Sega was just horrible with the business side of things. Still, they were better than Sony/MS as they actually had an identity.

  • Yup. It could have killed play staion

  • japan always exclusively gets cool stuff like this, same with that phillips dvd player/Gamecube

  • Get your facts straight.

That Gamecube/DVD playing console was made by Panasonic and called the Q, nothing to do with Philips.

I do agree on Japan getting the cool stuff though...........

  • wow!!!

    cool!!

  • Dreamcast was awesome at that time, but the brand name had gotten a lot of bad promotion due to various things. Another thing was the date of the release. It came out it was amazing but a year after the PS2 was released. If dreamcast was released a bit earlier and if sega had messed arround less and lost less trust of their costumers then they could have been succesfull

  • You are just saying that because that is what you have heard from your friends. Dreamcast was great at its time but as I said they had gained some bad reputation from previous consoles and people did just not trust them anymore. Then the PS2 came and killed Dreamcast off.

  • Dreamcast was a huge step into the right direction, but their previous failure with the Sega Saturn is what killed them. Also the release of the PS2 that was able to play DVD's and the soon to be released Gamecube and Xbox, Sega felt that they could just not keep up with the competition so they stopped making hardware and focused on making videogames. Search Youtube or Wikipedia about how succesfull Dreamcast was just their timing was a bit off and the failure of the past killed them off..

  • You're absolutely right, Dreamcast would have been a best selling console if it were not for the timeline of it's release.

  • @ashleyjamesdoran Dreamcast is a good system and had a lot of support and was actually doing well in the US. The problem was that Sega was already in debt from their goof ups with the 32X/Sega CD and the Saturn. They dropped the ball with all of those but did everything right with the DC, unfortunately it was just too late by that time, no matter how perfectly they marketed the DC Sega still would've ended up gone.

  • great dreamcast stuff. thanx

  • That edition is awesome!

    Thanks for the vid!

  • lol thats sweet, i remember a game for the dreamcast called like toy commander or something, good game
