They used to have a big NA on the top of our kitty's chart. It was a warning to other Vet Tech's and anyone who worked w/ her that she's a Nasty Animal when being checked.

Only when she gets her temperature taking, and what self-respecting cat wants a thermometer in her butt anyway?

She was pretty bad about it though. Hissed up the N. Wind every time we took her to the Vet.

The only time I have ever heard my cat hiss (I only have one and she is named "Cat") was when they shoved a thermometer up her buns. Oh and when the neighbors cat comes on our property. Which I don't mind but my kitty is a bit protective of our territory. I love my cat.

If I'm not mistaken, a cat can test positive and be a carrier, but never develop the disease. A friends cat tested positive all his long and healthy life. If I remember correctly, I think he lived to be fifteen. Just enjoy him. He'll probably live to see your kids in Middle School at least.

Ohh Cory.. it breaks my heart to know that Sparta has feline leukemia. I had a cat named Jill who was diagnosed with it, unfortunately it was severe in her case and was terminal.. she passed away at the age of 2. Sparta though is doing much better.. and I know in your care, he is certain to live a long and healthy life. Sparta, live on big guy.. you're a fighter after all. my dear Fred was diagnosed with feline leukemia when he was three... There were a few problems, some sicknesses (mostly kidney problems). I got good at giving him medicine. He developed diabetes when he was eleven and had to have daily injections of insulin (they didn't seem to bother him at all, he acted like he didn't feel them) but even then he lived a happy full life til he was 15.

Aww poor Sparta, My oldest cat actually passed away from a blood clot attacking his heart and lungs, so I send you my sympathy, and I hope he really does get to live long and happy, my cat was only 8 when he passed, I now have an 11 year old girl, she's happy and healthy thank god ^^

My wife had a cat the was diagnosed with feline leukemia when he was a year old and lived to be over 14 years old and he did not die from the leukemia or anything related to the leukemia. She did what the vet told you to do, which was a healthy diet, exercise,  So good luck with you, Steph and the cats and may yall have a long and happy life together.

Brown tabbies are the greatest man! I love Loki too, don't get me wrong. I have a brown tabby cat, Sadie. She has had this weird thing where she wouldn't stop nibbling at her fur(hot-spots I think they call them?) Like under-neath on her lower belly she'd lick all much of her fur off, and be kinda, erm...bald 0___0. On her tail she'd have certain spots like that as well. But we feed he these chicken flavored drops like every day to help the fur grow back gradually.

You should be very happy seeing that you found out your cat has feline leukemia and can prevent him from dying because my cat got extremely sick and we took him to the vet, they told us that he had feline leukemia and that he may or may not make it and a few days later he had died. (R.I.P. Bob).
