*continueing* like they said earlyer leota machida or however you spell his name does karate. Some might think that oh he is weak and doesn't use it. That bs he says and you can watch and see him use it and see that he has taken his form from that martial art into his own hands and crafted something powerful. The strongest martial art isn't based off of who can kick harder or punch harder. It must be obtained by practice of multiple styles and taking there stregnths and cover there weaknesses.
*continueing* they all came from diffrent gyms and masters and I beat them. I have done and learned several styles from the basics and alittle bit further for some. I have done mauy thai, TKD, pankration, karate, BJJ,jiujitsu, piguaquan, kung fu, kenpo, combat sambo, and salvet. I have learned that a fighter makes the style he or she uses by making it there own. Also the physical requirements might be diffrent a fighter could do anything to win that fight that you havnt expected.
Everyone who is saying that oh karate is inaffective and that BBJ and muay thai are the best. And karate vs TKD vs muay thai muay thai would win shut up. You havnt done martial arts long enough or aren't smart enough to relize that is all a lie. Each style has there own stregnths and weaknesses and a fighter takes that style and turns it into what he or she wishes it to be. I did a single year of TKD and beat people who did over half there life span in Muay Thai. More than one person mind you.
there are two forms of martial arts. do-the ones most americans use and jutsu- the real thing. basically over 95 percent of americans learn karate do or some other form of do martial art, think they know the moves and then go get in a bar fight and get killed. do is used mainly as an exercise and not the real secrets. jutsu is the real martial art style, thats where all the deadly secrets are.
um wow lol as i stated in my second comment those are the two that i know i asked about why some black belts dont really know that many great techniques and thats what i have been told. what i meant by that comment is that jutsu is the actual techniques so i guess thats all of them because they actually cover the real aspect of the martial arts that you mentioned while the style such as american karate-do is more exercise based and the real great stuff is left out. lol i look dumb compared to u.
That's okay, and I understand and agree that "jutsu" is the more practical way to go. However, some styles -- like Jeet Kune Do, Hwarang Do, and Tang Soo Do -- are still effective, despite having the "Do" in them. Those are styles that never had "jutsu" in them to begin with, but are still rooted in combat techniques instead of sport and excercise. It's semantics mostly, like the Korean "Kwans" all unifying under "Taekwondo" to make things easier to reference.
Uhhh, no. "Do" does not mean fist, and if you want you can google it. "Do" literally means 'Way". For example, Bruce Lee's "Jeet Kune Do" means "Way of the intercepting fist", Taekwondo means "Way of the foot-fist", and "Aikido" means "Way of harmonious energy".
The Chinese word "Chuan", or "Kune", as in "Jeet Kune Do" means fist. "Kwon" in "Taekwondo" also means fist in Korean. "Kung Fu" was originally called "Chuan fa", meaning "fist law", which translates into Japanese as "Kenpo/Kempo."
thank you demented. this guy is no expert and if the people who are saying he is took one years worth of classes with a real master (Grand Master Tom Muncy for instance) then they would realize that he doesnt know much more than the basic strikes and how they are used
1 name should put an end to all of you "my kung fu is better than yours" critics.... Lyoto Machida. BB in shotokan (not my style) single handedly the best light heavy weight fighter in UFC. He grew up as a point fighter (ooh sport karate sucks... blah blah) now 15-0 in UFC with amazing knockout power even against muay thai. i like how he broke down the kick so people can do it properly, instead of just throwing their leg somewhere and hoping it hit a target.
after 35 years in the martial arts and watching your vids, I must comment. FAR to much talking for short vids and not enough quality techniques, if your gonna instruct and post your vid first look at the experts available on youtube..the impression you give is not what your trying to put out regardless of your skill.
who are you guys to judge him? youve seen 2 min of an attempt to explain a technique. so just cool down.
karate < tkd < muay thai, serious? youre stupid. i did those 3 martial arts for 7 years and i fought against lotsa people, ive won, ive lost, no matter what martial art i chose. its 100% about the fighters. and those who insist that their martial art is the best are mostly those who cant even defend themselfs... trust me, this is what i experienced. gve me thumbs down, but its the truth!
Yes, agreed: I never said anything about one art being better than another. But you can perform a technique well or not, and this one isn't very good. I don't have anything against Mr Hill. But this isn't 'advanced' or 'expert,' is it?
well, this does not look like karate to me, but i gotta say that i did shotokan style, not kempo, i learned that one in an other way, i looks more like some kinda muay thai. secondly, you definatly gotta be advanced to reach your opponants chin with that kick or to hold it up high, so its not a beginners kick like mae geri.
and another thing, he performed it very carefully and slow and on the gedan (towards his opponants knees), of course it does not looke that impressively.
@xlaym your right man, I'm giving you a thumbs up! In highschool, everyone talks about BJJ and muay thai as if they are the best martial arts because of the ufc on television. And it annoys me to hear them say that they are invincible just because they know those two martial arts, they are complete idiots.
@RSBenjamintttt It doesn't matter what art it is, one isn't better than any other art. Muay Thai is a favorite of mine, but karate is just as good. Saying # of Years worth of experience doesn't mean a thing. Different people think in different ways. You cannot judge an art by the style, the individual in question is so much more important.
Realizing developing concepts in fighting is more frequent in certain arts. A Muay Thai fighter thinks differently than a Jiu Jitsu fighter.
It's difficult to believe that we are supposed to take this seriously as a demonstration of how to do a roundhouse kick. Look on Youtube for Kagawa Sensei demonstrating mawashi geri. Now THERES a black belt expert! Dont misunderstand me. I dont blame you for trying, and I wish you well in your training. But this isnt advanced, and youre not an expert yet.
I'm so tired of hearing "karate's crap" and so on from people. EVERY FUCKING MARTIAL ART HAS ABOUT THE SAME STANDARD TECHNIQUES! And those karate vs. muay thai videos doesn't prove anything. It's not about the style it's about the fighter. The better fighter wins the other fighter. And most of the people dissing karate don't know shit about it. They never realize that the Kumite part of karate is a Sport like tennis where you score points.
Then you dont know very much! Ive done MT, kickboxing and karate. Ive taught kickboxing and karate and for that matter goshin jutsu. Karate is very good when taught properly. There are many bad commercial karate clubs. When you say fighting style what do you mean? Sport or street? Semi contact or full contact? Self defence? What are you trying to achieve in the fight? A knockout, points or to kill?
I think that's something that will differ down to the personal instructor's method. I have a friend who practices the same system as me in a different nearby school who was taught to use the ball on roundhouse kicks. It's not what the style says, just what his teacher says. It really doesn't matter as long as you're comfortable with whatever you choose.

parkour2693 1 year ago
@xlaym The sweet sound of the truth.
Saying one martial art is better than another is leaving out the biggest factor, the individual in question.
To those who judge martial arts,
Who can say what concepts an individual has formulated to aid them in their fights.
If Karate < TKD < Muay Thai
Then a first year TKD will most definately defeat a veteran of the art of Muay Thai?
NO
Be careful of how you toss around your words unless you want to get hurt.
JCHCUser 1 year ago
@JCHCUser their saying like if 3 people 1 with 5 years experience in Muay thai, one in tkd and one in karate
muay thai will win against tkd and tkd will win against karate.
This is assuming all of the people have 5 years in experience

@RSBenjamintttt *continue*
Muay Thai is about conditioning and being able to take and deliver hits, it also has to do with weakening the enemy base.
Jiu Jitsu is Maximum power with the littlest amount of energy exertion.
And there is the training factor.
The teacher in question.
And many more factors but going there is troublesome.
This is like saying Chuck Norris will always beat Bruce Lee because Chuck Norris Does Karate and Bruce Lee Does Kung Fu.
Im Bored.
