When landing a big trout on a fly rod, leave an entire rod length of line out and have your rod arm stretched waaaaay out behind you. When Biggie sees the net, he's gonna bolt. That rod-length of line leaves you 18+ feetof leeway.

God I wish we had wild brookies over here in the UK, they're such gorgeous fish! Still, we do ok with the brownies ;).

I was suprised at the size of those fish coming from a stream that tiny! Where I fish in the north of England, getting a half pounder out of a stream that size would be pretty special - there must be some rich feeding there...

Nice video...well done with the video camera but very disappointed in the audio track. There is no need to be swearing and using foul language on the stream. Fly fishing is a sport pursued by purists, the upper crust of society and the upper echelon of mankind. Don't degrade the highest form of fishery pursuit by swearing and acting like a couple of NASCAR watching bass fishermen! Act like grown, sophisticated men, not some bunch of skater punks who discovered fly rods....thanks!

I grew up back East, Northern Ontario to be exact, fishing small stream brookies on 2 and 3 weight rods. In my opinion, and perhaps yours as well, there are few greater feelings than a cold beer at the end of a productive day spent at your favorite stretch of stream, pulling colorfully contrasted brookies from the water one after another. Great video. Makes me nostalgic for those days. If ever you're out West (British Columbia) I'll gladly play guide for a day, brother. Take care.
