Humans were beating animals at their own game long before the invention of black powder. Humans have always been aware of their shortcomings, which is why we always hunt in groups, use tools, brainpower, and take advantage of terrain. There seems to be some kind of weird "animal pride" thing going on here. Yes, a naked guy with no weapons probably isn't going to survive if tossed into a room full of hungry lions. So what? A bee sting can be deadly if you've got allergies.
