ELO's music from this movie is what got me into music. Of course I was only 9 when Xanadu was released, but before then I never cared for music at all. Not knowing much about buying music made finding these songs very difficult. In 1996 I finally found the Xanadu soundtrack on CD, and though I had been collecting music for a while, I never forgot why. Gene, Olivia, and Jeff contributed many great things to my life that I will never forget.

Remember seeing this movie when it first came out. One of my personal favorites. I think it's sad is that generation Y is the 1st generation (in my opinion) to have no real ties to the past, so in essence it can be hard for them to appreciate nostalgia. Nice to see some younger people who appreciate that much of what comes out today lacks the quality level of yesterday. PS: Xanadu in many ways is a throwback to the past, but with a connection to modern times. Good stuff!

Now, just think for a moment if he would have thought of a female vocal for one or two songs. olivia would have fit perfectly in the ensemble, as Traveling Wilburys was basically a pop-rock-country band. What a Glorious moment in Olivia's career it would have been!
