The RX5 and RX7 are the same sound source. The RX7 just holds more sounds. Editting and sound quality are exactly the same. They are both awesome machines. 12 outs on the RX5 makes it more professional. Thats all.

I still have mine. I sampled it and have the sounds in Battery 3/Cubase 6. I use the sounds for songs I did back then that just doesn't sound right with out those sounds. The RX7 was a pain to edit but the sounds made sense in a mix.
Wanna have some fun with this? If you know all the words to "Baby Got Back-" Start singing it to this rythm so that "butts" starts on the 16th beat....
This thing's sounds FILL the speakers for fuck's sakes!! And you DID NOT put any additional effects on this thing, AT ALL? NONE? I hear the contents of most of the RX5 ROM cards on this machine. Am I hearing correctly? This thing is WAY fucking better than the RX5 at sounds. Am I right or am I right? FUCK... Nice sound, EXCELLENT MUSIC.... NICE NICE NICE!!

you need to slow down the beat make it simple with nice hi hates and put a sub bass on it and some sweet piano strum sounds

i dig the yamaha rx7 sounds a lot more than i do roland boxes. yamaha have more of a rock sound... i know it's samples, but they ROCK

Thanks. Yes, you're right. The RX7 has all the 24 sounds from the RX5 plus the best sounds from the cartridges, altogether about 100 samples!
The RX7 also added an LFO and delay for sound editing. Biggest drawback: it has no individual outs.
