  • ALTHOUGH I'M A CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIAN (Baptist), I no longer believe that the Bible teaches eternal torment or suffering. The Bible teaches eternal punishment, but it's not eternal torment. In my popular Internet article, TRADITIONAL DOCTRINE OF HELL EVOLVED FROM GREEK ROOTS, I explain how and why teaching of eternal torment entered early into Christianity and how Scriptures have been misinterpreted and taken out of context to support that teaching. ~Babu G. Ranganathan (B.A. theology/biology)

  • SCIENCE SHOWS THAT THE UNIVERSE could not have sustained itself eternally because of entropy (even in an open system). Einstein confirmed that space, matter, and time had a beginning! That beginning had to be supernatural because natural laws have no ability to bring the universe into existence from nothing. The supernatural cannot be proved by science but science points to a supernatural intelligence for the origin and order of the universe ~ HOW FORENSIC SCIENCE REFUTES ATHEISM (Article)

  • NATURAL SELECTION DOESN'T PRODUCE ANYTHING. It can only "select" from what is produced that has survival value. If a variation occurs that helps a species survive, that survival is called being "selected." That's all it is. There's no conscious selection by nature. It's a passive process. Natural selection is a figure of speech. The term itself is a tautology. Natural selection only operates once there is life and reproduction, not before. Read my article: HOW FORENSIC SCIENCE REFUTES ATHEISM.

  • APES ARE QUITE COMFORTABLE IN HOW THEY WALK, just as humans are quite comfortable in how they walk. Even a slight change in the position of a muscle or bone, for either, would be excruciatingly painful and would not be an advantage for survival. There's no hard evidence that humans evolved from ape-like creatures anymore than there's hard evidence that apes evolved from four-legged-pawed dog-like creatures. Read Internet article: MISSING LINKS THAT NEVER WERE.

  • HOW DOES DNA MAKE A BODY? When you divide a cake the parts are smaller than the original cake and the cake never gets bigger. When we were a single cell and that cell divided, the new cells were the same size as the original cell and we got bigger. New material had to come from somewhere. That new material came from food. The sequence in our DNA directed our mother's food, we received in the womb, to become new cells forming all the tissues and organs of our body. Read: HOW DID MY DNA MAKE ME?

  • GENETIC INFORMATION CANNOT HAPPEN BY CHANCE, so it's more logical to believe that genetic similarities between all forms of life are due to a common Designer who designed similar functions for similar purposes. It doesn't mean all forms of life are biologically related! Also, "Junk DNA" isn't junk. These non-coding segments of DNA have recently been found to be vital in regulating gene expression. Read my popular Internet article: HOW FORENSIC SCIENCE REFUTES ATHEISM

  • WHAT IS SCIENCE? Science is knowledge based on observation. No one observed the universe coming by chance or by design, by creation or by evolution. These are positions of faith. The issue is which faith science supports. Natural laws explain how an airplane or a cell works, but undirected natural laws cannot bring about either. Once there's a complete cell, the code/mechanisms exist to direct the formation of more cells, but how did the cell originate when there was no directing code.

  • Chuck Norris is a Creationist. Bet you guys feel stupid now, right?

  • What evolved first the insect to pollinate the plant or the plant to feed the insect, it only works if it all happened at the same time. Some person on here has claimed that evolution is observable which is ridiculus unless you have a time machine as they were not there. Apes are still apes, birds are still birds and bacteria are still bacteria after so called (your magic wand hey presto millions of years) Dawkins was challenged to provide such proof of observation of evolution and failed.

  • @Bornagain271 There are tens of thousands of species of plants that do not require pollination to reproduce. As it happens, pollination is a very successful reproduction method and so it is not surprising that it evolved. But it is not a pre-requisite for having plant life.

Bacteria, it turns out, have been observed to evolve with a great deal of precision. Dr. Richard Lenski's experiments have documented the dramatic evolution of e. coli over 40,000 generations

  • Come on you religious evolution folk , show us some proof of your religion, where did matter/energy come from, what evolved first the seed or the plant, you see creations only works if it all happened at the same time, what did the first seed fertilize or what did the first plant grow from if it had to evolve a seed? Eternal God makes far more sense than the impossibility of matter and energy creating themselves out of Nothing. Repeating a supposition for 150 years does not make it true.

  • @Bornagain271

just google "list of transitional fossils". lol. Click on the Wikipedia link if you want. There will be gaps because it requires a lot of conditions to form a fossil. The fossil record will never be perfect, but it doesn't mean that it's false.

  • @Bornagain271 Evolution is a fact. It happens. The theory of evolution explains how it happens. Too bad if you can't wrap your head around it.

  • Evolution is not Science, it is merley a way of looking at the universe without a designer and has never ever been proven and thus is a religion. Real science is observational or operational. It does not even qualify as a theory but is mere supposition. Thank goodnes we can re-educate our children at home from to think for themselves outside of this false religion and tell them how easy it is to leave the evolution teacher in schools looking stupid with a few simple questions.

  • @Bornagain271 Really? No proof for evolution? Evolution not a science? Ok genius, ask your questions that are going to leave us poor believers in evolution looking stupid then. As far as a theory, do you even know what a scientific theory is? bases on your comment, I am skeptical. Oh, and FYI before you get started I will warn you that evolution is absolutely observable and operational. It is very well documented...I suggest you read a bit before replying...

  • @Protectourbioshpere Rubbish, there is not a shred of evidence that any species has turned into another one from any fossil record, its all suppostion and philolosphy 100%. Your piltdown man which fooled so called scientists for 40 years was a HOAX.

Evolution is IMPOSSIBLE, you cant explain where matter even came from without breaking the laws of conservation of energy. Please provide full proof of evolution and claim your $250,000 prize?

  • @Bornagain271 You are foolish and pigheaded. I know your type, and I do not expect you to listen to reason. I feel sorry for your children as you are robbing their minds of the natural wonder that surrounds us..That being said, you would do well to investigate who it was that divulged the fact that the piltdown man was a hoax.It was not a bunch of fun loving creationists. It was scientists.I could give you countless examples of evolution, but you will just bush them off in ignorance.

  • @Bornagain271 Have another glass of kool-aid.

  • It's funny because what is defined as "natural" is anything we've ever found. How can you believe that something which is unnatural is real? Wouldn't that redefine it as natural?

  • @Mrgarison101RS. I'm in agreement with your statement. However, if you are going to debate intelligently with proponents of Intelligent Design you need to get your Biblical facts straight. ID and Creationism are based on the OLD Testament (specifically the Book of Genesis) which most scholars agree to have been written some time in the mid to late 700 BC timeframe.

  • @teKawaare and the Jews stole the idea from the Babylonians when they lived in Babylon.

  • @kmcadams91 If Darwin had said that quote, nothing would change

Even if evolution didn't happen (it does), it doesn't mean creationism is true. You still have to demonstrate why it happened but you have no proof, no evidence.

  • panspermia is an alternative theory for abiogenesis in the earth, which some people inculde in evolution

  • Evolution : Science = Ignorance : Religion

  • I think a parrot could be taught how to beat creationists, seeming as if they use the same arguments over. And over. And OVER. AND OVER again!!!

  • I'd love for science teachers in America to teach evidence against Evolution. We all love a free lesson slot, don't we? Even if appearance is mandatory, I'm sure students my age share my absolute passion to catch some sleep amongst the business in school.

  • This is preaching to the choir, you´re never going to get a christian retard to accept a fucking word. No offence meant to christian retards.

  • Richard Dawkins has gone off the rails:

search for Richard Dawkins and male privilege on Phil Plait's Bad Astronomy blog.

Participating in flaming a woman because she dares to say 'don't objectify me at a conference'? Poorly done, Dawkins.

  • @8yankee Are you speaking any language that any human being could possibly understand?

  • I DON'T go to an Atheist to understand Christianity, or a Intellegent Design theorist to understand Eugenie Scott's Evolution; she is so condesending that I wonder why her audience believes she can speak for anyone else, on behalf of any other theory. But, she's got the holier than thou attitude down pat....religiously.

  • @westernciviliznation There is nothing worthwhile to understand about religion. Virtually the fullcrum of its factual claims about reality have been found to be complete nonsense, it tends to be a profound source of immorality and above all, it consistently proves to be a prime source of conflict in the world.

It's fairly self-evident to any intelligent & sane person how religion ought to be approached--throw it straight in the garbage bin. If that is not possible, treat it with ridicule.

  • I seriously cannot believe people this day and age still believe all living things were created!!

Wake up people and smell the coffee! Thers is no god and no creator so stop remaining delusional and irrational!

  • GENETIC INFORMATION CAN'T HAPPEN BY CHANCE anymore than other forms of information can happen by chance. Therefore, it is far more logical to believe that genetic and biological similarities between species are due to a common Designer (Creator) who designed similar functions for similar purposes in all of life. What about "Junk DNA?" It's not junk, after all! These sections of DNA are not genes, but they regulate gene expression. Read my Internet article: WAR AMONG EVOLUTIONISTS!

  • @Mogley52 I believe you are wrong. There is no "controversy" among evolutionary scientists. I know this because my brother is studying to be an evolutionary biologist. There is no other option worth considering. Unless, of course, the designer is flawed. But most religions won't have that... And yes, junk DNA does exist. It is demonstrated by 3 human genes for making egg yolks, left over from our ancestory millions of years ago. Not to mention genetic mutations which duplicate genetic info.

  • @ItsEasyIfYouThink The designer doesn't have to be flawed. If evolution doesn't happen then obviously the designer is a sadistic bastard. For me, the idea that evolution wasn't true went out the window with the comparison of our second chromosome to the second and third of other apes. A 'designer' would have to have manipulated our DNA with the intention of deceit in order for evolution not to be true. Of course, religions don't much care for this idea either.

  • @ShrodingerFu Yeah, evolution is now at a point where to deny the evidence is unreasonable under any standards of evidence. And yes, I agree with you that the designer would indeed have to be one seriously screwed up entity. And unfortunately, as you mentioned, religions just don't even care about evidence. They only see what they want. And so, they can toss out evolution AND say that their god isn't a sadistic bastard, all in one breath. It's really an amazing feat of human reasoning and logic.

  • @ItsEasyIfYouThink Is there such major as "evolutionary biology"? Wow, that's weird, are you sure??. You know evolution contributes nothing to biology. Theory of evolution needs biology to progress, and without evolution, biology can still progress. There are few videos on YouTube discussing the junk DNA. I think you should spend some time watching, you won't be wasting your time, if you really want to learn new stuff.

  • @hisham031170 Actually yes, there is a major called evolutionary biology. And it's very in-depth and well-understood. And no, evolution practically IS biology. It's the backbone to understanding life, even basically, on this planet. And as a matter of fact, I do like to learn new stuff. You should check out what biologists and geologists and archaeologists have discovered since the 1800's; it really shows you how much people can do when they really want to learn about this wonderful planet.

  • @ItsEasyIfYouThink I'm with @hisham031170, I don't think theory of evolution is important to biology at all.

  • @archilles1195 Well, thank god that reality doesn't hinge on what you "think the theory of evolution is", or how important you think it is to biology, and had you ever spoken to a biologist about the role of evolution in biology, you might discover otherwise. For a small example, perhaps the understanding of how EVERY ORGANISM ALIVE got here is a bit of a question of BIOLOGY, which evolution answers ever so elegantly, honestly, and completely.

  • @archilles1195 This is akin to saying that atomic theory isn't important to chemistry or that the theory of general relativity isn't important to physics.

  • @hisham031170 And how exactly does religion contribute to any form of REAL fundamental science. It does nothing for physics, does nothing for biology, does nothing for chemistry and nothing for geography. Yet here you are trying to disprove the most widely accepted theory for the origin of man, and all species and environments, with the most feasable evidence than any other theory. Christians are relying on a book written by some shepherds some 500 years after Jesus Christ was crucified.

  • @Mogley52 How delusional to believe everything is created!!!

    There is no designer!

  • @jjoneil73 Even if there were a creator, where did it come from?

  • @jamespiperca Yes but there's not! lol

  • Luke 5:31, 32 And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

  • I've noticed a trend on these videos:

30% = average observers that just watch.

40% = people who try their best to understand science and support common scientific understanding.

20% = people who actually study science and support scientific understanding.

5% = Smart people who are also (deistic) religious and support scientific understanding.

5% = "true" religious people who accept creationism and either argue science or falsly use science to try and prove their own agenda.

  • Funny how this debate is only happening in the US. I haven't heard of religious ideologies trying to be forced into a public school curriculum in the UK or Australia, in fact I believe it is unconstitutional to do so. If religious group even tried to bring in such a ludicrous idea, they would be thrown out of the high court for being unconstitutional.

  • bat shit crazy and its an absolute travisty people in the modern age think that ID makes perfect sense.

  • visited academicfreedompetition. com.. and guess what?? i can get a free newsletter on Intelligent Design... LMAO..

  • see this is how it works. 11:00. It cant come about through chance, and its complex. SO, an omnipoent god who created himself from nothing and exists outside of space and time but can still interfare in space in time WITHOUT effecting the measurings of science, must have done it.

    ????????????????????????????????????????????

  • notice how these Christians think putting the word "science": into the title makes it plausible?

just like if i called myself "betts-saurus" the i MUST be a dinosaur!!!

  • A classroom in a PUBLIC school isn't a PUBLIC forum??? Is a classroom in a PRIVATE school a PRIVATE forum then?

  • @kc0itf Look up the cases Bethel School District v. Fraser, and Hazelwood School District v. Kuhlmeier. Schools are nonpublic forums, meaning while they can't censor based on viewpoint, they can censor content. In other words, once a given topic is raised, you can't censor discussion based on a person's viewpoint. You can only censor the topic itself. Furthermore, you can't express any ideas that run contrary to the legitimate educational interests of the school - as in Morse v. Frederick.

  • There are no gods,no devils, no angels,

    no heaven or hell.

There is only our natural world.

Religion is but myth and superstition

that hardens hearts and enslaves minds.

  • @tube41874 Right on! You hit the nail on the head!

  • why human not being practical about God existence? just assume God exists then make tech that enable human to communicate with God then ask Him to give all of us eternal life new planet etc etc :D maybe we only need 1000 years to produce such communication device... compare to have new planet maybe we need 10000 years hahaha
  • @dfdtdfdx Why make a machine for something that doesn't exist? That's like making weapons to slay dragons and devices to capture unicorns.

  • @neurallydegenerated Unicorns do exist Job 39:9-12. At least if you believe the bible they do.

  • @leaualorin p.s. I thought you were posting a comment on the video, I now think it might have been aimed at someone else. That's what the 'reply' button is for.

  • 70 people were so outraged they mis-clicked the dislike button

  • special creationism reveals the cognitive defects of the religious

religion means you only accept evidence that confirms your conclusion.

science means you only accept conclusions confirmed by evidence.

  • @manonthemount Faith does not require evidence.

  • @xTEHWAFFLESx2 Personal faith doesn't require evidence. Preaching, or imposing on others, or having that faith influence the lives of others DOES require you to have evidence, otherwise you can't be taken seriously.

  • Even my Senior year when I took AP Biology. there were quite a few students who denied evolution, including my friend Keith (whom I considered to be the brightest out of any of us). Our Biology teacher even said she was a Creationist.

I didn't really know that much about evolution back then, but I still thought that everybody had turned mad. It's really sad what the Texas school system and religion has done to a lot of us.

  • I remember the TASS/TAKS exams I took in grade school. These exams were based on the TEKS curriculum, the problem is that the bar is set so low so Texas schools look like they're doing a good job of educating their students, but in actuality we get a watered down version of what we should be learning.

Despite making the curriculum easier for students, my school had a dropout rate of over 50%. I lucked out because I was able to get into GT/AP classes so I managed to get an alright education.

  • @ilackedtheheart As a followup to my previous comment, I remember specifically Sophomore that we got on the topic of evolution and there were students who got offended and pretty much stated that they didn't believe in it and that they believed in Creationism. Our teacher actually got spooked a bit and tried to brush it off by saying something along the lines that she was supporting intelligent design. The sad thing is that there kids were supposedly among the brightest in our school.

  • I mean like, duh. i understood the basics of this when i was 8 and i went to catholic school. Thank god, I live in Canada.

  • First of all a mutation is any combination of chromosomes. Given the trillions of mutations that occur on this planet at any given moment, the chances that a beneficial combination of chromosomes will occur within a given species is profound. Take into account that negative combinations are discarded through natural selection and neutral combinations have no effect, it seems inevitable that beneficial combinations will remain and lead to drastic changes provided the environment requires them.

  • When I was a Graduate Student Adviser at San Jose State University I had the opportunity to Read and Review Student Papers. Although I could not get past the first paragraph of their critique, one being because they are full of Grammatical error, I grew to conclude that the majority of student intelligence at San Jose State is only mediocre.

  • @heartlessvietboy Why do we care about your personal conclusion on the "student intelligence" at San Jose State University? One may argue that your YouTube comments don't speak particularly highly of your own intelligence.

  • Please Young Girl. I was only being Real. I Did not ask you if you Cared or not. This is a Public Channel.

  • You should not speak about other people's life experiences based on your life experience because our world (intelligence and background) may be all different. You have to make sure that experiences (what we see and feel) are the same. When we speak, we want to reach the audience so they can relate.

  • another point on the number of mutations required for Natural Selection to do it's thing: the total number of living things from all of the existence of life on this planet is our source pool, therefore giving plenty of source mutations.

ID/Creationists work the stats and then make calculations based on one single line of descent, not all of them.

  • Also, if you all had listened to 11:30 - 12:10 she completely addressed the points of evolution being 'chance'

  • I wish people would actually do research about evolution before they say it is 'chance'.

    Sigh.

I digress. No point at all to teaching them of science.

  • Also, isn't it true that evolution is at least a product of chance? Maybe she herself is confused about evolution. May someone please correct me if I'm wrong here.

  • @mukeh111

The mutations are random - yes. We see these mutations happen literally all the time, though.

However, natural selection is not random chance.

  • I'm Christian. It's very hard for me to see how evolution undermines faith. It's comparing apples and oranges. Science explains that a human can say 'I love you'. Then it simply takes faith to believe it was said by something fundamentally *more* than a biological robot, for no robot can make such a statement and rationally be taken seriously. It also seems unfair how the title mocks Divine creation though the talk is primarily about things *certain people* have said that she deems absurd.

  • Natural selection involves a very high level of chance. I'm not sure how she believes that chance doesn't play a significant role in natural selection. A population of a species creates a large number of permutations over time, each with the chance that it could be the permutation best adapted for the environment. The population is required to take the chance to find the best permutation of genes required for survival.

  • @fidsah

Natural selection is not chance. It's a fairly simple concept - the traits that are most adapted to survive in the environment are those that are most likely to continue.

Mutations are random - yes. We see countless mutations happen every time DNA is copied.

  • @acherrybalm Why would you separate the DNA from the traits? That doesn't make sense. The traits are not "selected." "Selection" is a very dangerous word. Chance creates a new series of traits, and the traits best suited for an environment have the highest chance of surviving. Chance plays a heavy role in finding the right combination for appropriate traits of an organism, and those traits improve the chance of that organism passing on those traits. It's a pyramid of chance.

  • @fidsah

Sigh. All you have used is the fallacy of equivocation

"Chance, in the form of mutations, provides genetic variation, which is the raw material that natural selection has to work with. From there, natural selection sorts out certain variations. Those variations which give greater reproductive success to their possessors (and chance ensures that such beneficial mutations will be inevitable) are retained, and less successful variations are weeded out."

    talkorigins

  • @fidsah

I suggest reading further up on evolution if you still think evolution is 'chance'

Here's a good place to start:

    talkorigins [dot] org/faqs/chance/chance [dot] html

  • @acherrybalm So really the only thing you can come up with is the first result from a google search? I don't believe you understand anything about evolutionary biology. In your first response, you quoted that chance is indeed a critical and vital part of evolution, but quote it like it's not. I'm sorry if the only understanding of the mechanics of evolution are the popular arguments, but to say that chance is not a fundamental property of evolution is like calling evolutionary biology Darwinism

  • @fidsah

"So really the only thing you can come up with is the first result from a google search?"

This was not a Google search I have done. Perhaps you should read up on Talkorigins [dot] org as they address the misconception that evolution is 'chance'

And I see you have not even read what I wrote in my previous comments. I would appreciate it if you did before you take my words out of context and set up an elaborate straw man while including ad hominem attacks

  • @acherrybalm talkorigins is extremely biased against how the mechanic of chance plays a role in evolutionary biology due to how religious nuts try to leverage chance. All the way from the genetics level, all the way up to the entire survival of generations of a specimen, there is any number of chances that can determine the survival of a specific trait, even if that trait does not enhance the "fitness" of the specimens chance to survive. Chance plays a very large role.

  • @fidsah

And once again, I encourage you to do further research.

  • @acherrybalm Calling it Darwinism is like calling electrical engineering Teslaism. You are oversimplifying a very complicated and well established fundamental behind the engine of evolution. To say there is no element of chance is like telling me you are able to predict a scenario in which of 100 specimens in a population where 1 has developed a very beneficial trait, how many organisms will have the trait in ten generations.

  • Creationists = The unintentional masters of irony, given.....

Creation 'science' contains no science + 'intelligent' design isn't intelligent.

  • @comanchio1976 I'm amazed. Americans go on about freedoms and democracy and privacy. They spend billions to fight wars to get rid of dictators who thwart those principles yet when it comes to religion they become slaves and bow down to this dictator known as god. Can anyone explain this?

  • @jamespiperca That's just it, the U.S. (or at least successive governments) have opposed democracy all over when it has been against their interests,eg South America.

They support the Saudi's, which is effectively a dictatorship with a terrible human rights record.

The U.S. has only opposed dictators when it's suited them...so I guess for the most part, the god dictator suites them, or at least most of them...for now.

  • i love jesus when he gags on my cock

  • @starcraftisausome With a cock as smelly and deformed as yours who WOULDN'T gag on it!

When will God-haters, sorry, 'Atheists' step ou of their own litle world and face His people with their nonsense? Answer, they won't! Because they know that they cannot win against the voices of the righteous! Maker turn his gaze on you.

  • @knightcaptaincullen as opposed to the ramblings of the faithful. atheists don't hate god because it is a waste of time to 'hate' something you don't beieve in.

  • @janto58 Atheists hate the faithful and in so doing they hate the faith and in so doing they hate Him.

  • @knightcaptaincullen I don't hate the faithful. But I do admit, I have a strong dislike for faith of any kind.

  • @knightcaptaincullen

LOL you have no idea what your talking about.

have you ever talked to an atheist? i doubt it.

we don't hate the so-called "fathful" we pity you, for being so deluded and blind to the wonders of the world right in front of your eyes.

also, i noticed "may the maker turn his gaze on you" ... were you just trolling?

(for those not in the know, Knight-Captain-Cullen is a character in the game "Dragon age" and "the maker" is the god he worships)

  • @janto58 That's just not even true. If atheists didn't oppose creationism why don't they just get on with it instead of bashing people's faith constantly?

Evolutionary biologists aren't physicists. Physics is the parent field of biology. To properly understand proteins and organic compounds you need to understand the properties of the underlying particles. As it happens a lot of physicists have spiritual perspectives of the universe and openly admit it: Einstein and atm Michio Kaku

  • @knightcaptaincullen iv been worshiping the devil for over a year know i mean im generaly a good person and everything like that but i worship the satan because god is a sick perverted sadomasic fuck. i tried to get invaded by evil spirits and i told the devil to take my since im still a virgin (well was) iv done everything i can (within the confines of human created laws in my state) to get fucking demonized and it still hasent worked. jesus christ i will kick the shit out of you faggot godcunt

  • @starcraftisausome Firstly how do you intend to 'kick the shout out of me' when you don't even know me.

Secondly, you must be one UGLY motherfucker if even the Devil won't fuck your ugly ass. Finally, you'd have to be of some use to a demon for it want to possess you and you seem like a thouroughly useless individual.

  • @knightcaptaincullen I I do take my atheism to the street. Into the face of christians, muslims, jews and hindis.

It would be easier if theists didn't try to fight or kill me for talking about it with them.
