  • TY for the HQ UL i hate when people UL in 240. It ruins all of the beauty of the sound

  • Mozart will never die! This is true beauty.

  • This song is so amazing that they played it on the Little Einsteins. Great work! Mozart is a legend.

  • Simplismente fantástico, saudações fagotísticas brasileiras !!!

  • @ComposerNr1 stfu

  • I just love the violin. It calms me...

  • Zeka ve yetenek dolu insanları çok seviyorum. Bir de bunlara sahip olamadıklarına üzülebilen insanları. - İlker OĞUZ

  • If you're looking for the pounding, go to 2:24

  • for me it´s a pity it, the BPO don´t record operas in Blu-ray, I have " the walkire" of Aix by BelAir with Rattle and Westbroek, and your sound is amazing, sorry, my english is not good

  • Berlin are the best IMO.

  • Beautiful music, thank you

    MsEtoile7

  • Examplary performance, Love it.

    Rita

  • this is nice

  • oohh i like this

  • Berlin=best orchestra in the world

  • Music so beautiful, that even a new born child will start moving its finger's and twitching it's toe's.

Music so eternal, that even an old man in the twilight of his life will wipe away his tears and smile while stepping into the eternal darkness beyond.

Music to celebrate with.To work with.To make love with.

Music that will still be playing like a benediction, when the lights are finally extinguished on Mother Earth by some terrible fury of nature or man.

  • esto es musica.....

  • What an interesting stage! I wonder how the harmonics are behind the orchestra...

  • can some one help me im a grade 8 flute player with atcl i want to learn, either piccolo, oboe,or bassoon any ideas?

  • Thumbs up if you agree that Mozart was an great musician =)

  • @lamami890 he was actually a composer but i kno what ur saying and i agree.

  • awesome this is my fav out of all of mozarts syphonys

  • Que hermoso cuanto sentimiento. A mi desde niño me gusta Mozart.

  • wow ..

    really coolll ..

can i join in this opera .

    lol XD

  • exellente!

  • Excelente!!!

  • wasn't the symphony originaly scored for 4 Horns?

  • @gera1262 In the original autograph score thats preserved the scoreing is for 2 horns. However some orchestras choose to double both parts, in my opinion this upsets the balence of the smaller string section.

  • Wery expressive! Tempo optimale.

  • LOVE THIS SONG!!!!

  • i suscribe!!!!

  • The talent in composing and playing.... leaves me dumbfounded

  • Awesome classic work!

  • what would happen if there wasn't a conductor... just asking

  • @TubbyWilliams no harmony

  • Classic music is classic, the name says everything. :P I don't really like when people pass on bad comments about such nice music like this only because they like another type of music. This is hard to play and we have to be thankful to these people that they have written and played such good music and probably practised a lot to gain the effect :))

  • @WineOriTa mozart

  • Pinnock you traitor.

  • whats the difference between a violin and a viola

  • @Seb2136 the viola has a dark pitched tone and the violin has a more high picthed tone

  • @chamberviolist thanks for telling m8 ;)

  • Not a whole lot actually. The viola is four-stringed and in the violin "family." It is larger than the violin and is very often just referred to as a tenor or alto violin. In contrast, the violin is capable of attaining higher pitches and remains the "treble" instrument of the family. Linguistically speaking, the Italian word for violin (violino) is a diminutive of the word viola.

  • The viola is in the alto clef and the violin in the treble, apart from that and it being deeper not a whole lot really.

  • @Agilthoniel The Viola sounds ALOT different to the violin, what are you talking about? Why else would chamber music pass material between the 2nd V and the Vla when it doesn't need to? A violist must be able to play in treble cleff, undoubtedly. One can tell a viola from a mile away - personally, I love its rougher, scratchier, somehow more wholesome and passionate sound - but just look up 'viola jokes' on google to get an idea of how different it is to the violin.

  • Wonderful performer!!! Masters of all fingers players. Thanks

  • Excellent perform. When our mind feel weakness and hopeless, music like this gave us new energy and recovery HUGE PUSH.. Thanks

  • On this fragment: perfection, even on my questionable computer sound system! Beethoven- the essence of perfection to the highest realms of spirituality.

My mother, a pianist and fine musician, semi-paralyzed in a Montreal hospital, thanks to medical bungling, unable to speak or move, on hearing Beethoven's 9th Symphony from my CD player at her bedside, having never uttered an audible word in 7 weeks, raised her arm skywards and clearly said, with emotion, "WONDERFUL"!

    - Ana de Madrid, Calgary

  • I love it :X

  • ah, such perfection

  • mozart had put something in his music, a special feeling which is not to discribe just wonderful !!!! everytime i hear the 40th my heart is beating in an other rythm and adrenaline goes through my veins

  • i like it =)

  • Go Trevor! My favorite conductor, by far!

    Elihu

  • One of the rare works of Mozart which are neither too assuming nor too artificial, along with Eine Kleine Nach Musik

  • Mozart never wrote anything "assuming" or "artificial".There are two rare creatures that could conceive of anything Mozart wrote as bad, those who think American Idol is a keen source of artistic judgment and those who have spent too much time in academia who can only write fart sounds because they imagine people like Mozart to be outdated. Regardless of their credentials those types are more suited to American Idol than anything else,no matter how many certificates acacdemia gives them.

  • I like this symbhony very match

  • Comment removed

  • Nicely performed and beautifully composed.

  • basses at 2:24 = epic win

  • absolutely.

  • one of my favorite a work of a genius with lots of emotion and life i love thanks for sharing the spirit of music

  • oh my god..such great!!! ty berlin phil, ty wolfgang..

  • brilliant

  • excellent

  • i like mozart but hes to jumpy for me

  • God is Mozart

  • I agree

  • @TemperedWell you may as well say beer is proof of god. i agree the music is heavenly, but very much a human construct. no need to resort to hyperbole.

  • @bowlochile i agree but still not, music is much more then a ¨human construct¨, its more like the ultimate way of expresion

  • @bowlochile

Are you comparing the bitter taste of beer and it's belching flatchulence with the depth of emotion and intellectual conveyance of music? You might as well compare a gopher to a woman if you compare those two.

Not that a good beer isn't tastey. Gophers have there uses too, but I would never compare one to the beauty of a woman.

  • @AA19752012 Hahaha that was hardly "deep." Quit being so pretentious. No one wants to hear your phony, egocentric analogies on such dumb things.

  • @Yotes4Life

Dude, just because you like to actually sit there and think but sucking dicks but don't want to let anybody know how friggin' queer you really are doesn't mean you care about others or that you are humble or "deep". It means that your a phony conformist undercover fag who thinks it's a front to actually truly love women and that all metaphor has to be oriented around gay shit or it confuses you. So SHUT THE FUCK UP!

  • Interesting story vvsak ty

  • *sigh.

violin is such a beautiful instrument , especially if it's played with lots of other strings instruments =P

  • Pinnock in Berlin ?! O tempora etc. :) :)Bohm/Karajan etc must be rolling in their graves. In Osborne's book on Karajan he quotes Rattle , in the conext of a possible performance in Salzburg,as saying Karajan was courteous and charming over the phone.... till he suggested conducting a period orchestra...when he heard this Karajan hung up on Rattle !! Well done Berlin Phil ! Good for you.

  • viola closed to first violins?!?!?!

  • sehr gut! das ist wunderbar!

  • The conductor is conducting head of time FYI, something they do

  • The music is awesome...Great performance! Unfortunately, the audio track lags behind video track...it´s out of sync a little bit...for instance, check at 0:20...did anyone else notice that as well? Did YouTube screw something up or is it something with my computer? I´ve got pretty good internet connection though...

  • wonderful... great quality (audio / video) too.

  • can e-mail this song to me? xp

  • It is not a song but a piece.

  • This traditon has been over for quite some time. It was violinist Madeleine Carruzzo who became the first woman member of the Berliner Philharmoniker in 1982.

  • That long ago!? Had no idea about that... Anyway (with or without women) a great performance indeed!

  • I think the Wiener Philharmoniker still holds that tradition. though i'm pretty sure they had a female conductor the a few years ago. the irony

  • thanks for the information. Very interesting reed your answers Thanks

  • The came Sabine Meyer...I have to say Karajan was right about her...and I think if another Meyer came today she would get in with no big fuss...I understand Karajan' might have gone about it the wrong way...but in my view she should have been in. Pahud is in there after and he has a solo career like she does. Maybe the orchestra should invite her back for the solo slot...

  • @moltoallegro19 The orchestra that doesn't hire woman yet is the Vienna Philarmonic.

  • @Jannacek As far as I'm aware, it is not that the Vienna Phil. doesn't hire women, but that it doesn't (or didn't, I'm not sure of the present situation) conduct 'screened auditions' (wherein a partition separates the player from the panel). This is obviously an implicit way of saying "we do care what colour your skin is, how old you are, what your sex is etc.". But I believe they screen their auditions now.

  • @moltoallegro19 Maybe you are thinking of the Vienna Philharmonic?

  • Beautiful !

  • Thank you very much this music! " Wonderful!

  • mr pahud plays the clarinettte?

  • Yes, he looks a bit like him. But in fact, this is Gaspare Vittorio Buonomano, a scholarship holder of the Orchestra Academy of the Berliner Philharmoniker.

  • Is that where the orchestra gets a majority of its extra and substitute players? I'm always wondering ... because in a lot of the videos, the principals are replaced and so are the assistant principals.

  • Substitutes come both from the Academy and from other orchestras. It is a bit unusual that members of the Academy play at the first desks, but as you can see here, there are exceptions.

  • @BerlinPhil The Best Versión is "Mozart Complete Symphonies - Trevor Pinnock - English Concert".

  • WONDERFULL

  • i wish i coulda seen this live

  • Pinnock's cd recordings of this (and all the other Mozart Symphonies) is so damn good!

  • Come on Mozart! Is this the best you could come up with?? (easy guys, kidding of course!) a true masterpiece!!

  • The perfect performance of the perfect piece.

  • All Berliner Philarmoniker videos are amazing, but they are too short!

  • They tease me a lot. I think that is their objective.

  • Perfection.

  • my fav Mozart piece.
