  • If not the best, one of the best videos i have watched so far!!

  • Great Video. We are interested in adopting a few cows. Thank you for sharing.

  • Thanks for posting this. I really want to visit farm sanctuary and hope to spend some time in the new york sanctuary :)

  • Visit the Sanctuaries... and bring a friend who is on the fence.

  • That was so cool! Thanks for posting!

  • awesome pictures, and the girl is realy cute too! never hurts lol

  • hey thank you alot for posting this video. This is how animals should be treated. Thanks again.

  • Great images. (and music choice too.)

I didn't cry until reading your words "Mine are not the only tears soaked into their fur and feathers..." profound.

    Animals are such healers, eh

    Go Veg!

  • That was so great! Thanks for putting it together to show how great it is volunteering/interning with Farm Sanctuary!

  • Such a great video. Thanks so much for posting it : )

  • Ashley,

Thanks so much for sharing your experience. I just saw Gene Baur speak at the Peace Abbey in Sherborn, MA. I am so inspired by Farm Sanctuary and all of the wonderful people who give the animals the opportunity to be their wonderful selves! Go Vegan!

    Wishing you all the best,

    Leslie

  • Did you meet Sky, a very friendly and lovable turkey!!! If you did, tell her I love her!!!

  • Yes, I remember Sky! She is a sweetheart! I will tell her you love her and give her a hug from you when I see her again!!! Did you meet Ginko? She is friendly, too, and a peacemaker among the turkeys... I miss Farm Sanctuary so much! I will return! Maybe I'll see you there!

    Peace,

    Ashley

  • this video made me contemplate stop eating meat. I probably wont, but i already eat quite little food

  • Great video!! I was an intern last June at the NY shelter and will never forget my experiences there! You said it -"I am forever changed." Heaven does exist!

  • The Farm !! The turkeys!! I'm all these vegans!

  • I want to go to Farm Sanctuary sooooo badly!!! Unfortunately, I don't have the money to go from the Midwest to Cali, but one day I will.

  • hitchjr-I was vegetarian for years-thinking dairy & eggs were okay. Then learned of factory farms and the miserable lives cows & hens have. If I could purge what I've consumed & eliminate the suffering these animals went through,I would. That's not the case. BUT I do have a say about now. I fight daily with my fork. And speak loudly and often to stop this cruel and uncessary madness. Don't beat yourself - the animal food industry goes through great expense brainwashing us all. go vegan!

  • hitchjr, please do not be so hard on yourself. Most of us were meat eaters at one point. Be grateful you are not anymore and go from there. It can be hard being vegan in this world. We just have to keep trying.

Lovely video! I'm lucky enough to live about an hour from the California shelter. It is always so peaceful to be there. If anyone ever has a chance to visit this or the New York shelter, do go.

  • It just breaks my heart to watch this, I can't understand why it's so hard for people to love this beautiful animals.

I'm just curious if anyone else still battles with the guilt of knowing you were a part of hurting this creatures like I do... I swear its the only hard part of giving up meat and dairy. Sometimes I just cry, thinking about how many sweet souls were killed so I could eat something I should never have been eating.

I'd love to have a copy of the smiling goat (chili?) pic.

    Peace.

  • I share your feelings, but guilt only chips away at the soul. Find peace in knowing that NOW you are making choices that save lives and change the world.

Farm Sanctuary animals carry scars...but they are not the only ones healed. Mine are not the only tears soaked into their fur and feathers... then they smile! Respected and Joyful- my wish for all animals. Thank you for seeing them with your heart.

Send me your address and I will send you the pic of Chili's sweet, smiling face:)

    ~Ashley

  • the nicest thing about these creatures is that after all that's been done to them, they are so quick to forgive humans. And I think if they could tell what was going on in your head, they would probably be cheering you on for making the choices you've made, and they would say that not eating them anymore is a good way to say I'm sorry to the ones you did eat. I feel bad too . . . but I need to be strong for them. :)

  • love it! i am hoping to get to intern at the ny shelter this summer and this video shows all the reasons why farm sacntuary is amazing.

  • BEAUTIFUL! Ashely, you are AWESOME! Thanks so much for sharing with us.

  • Ashley, you're awesome. I've sent this to everyone I know and everyone I sorta know on facebook. ;)

I can't bring everyone to Farm Sanctuary (although I wish I could), but this does a good job of transporting us all there . . . even if only for a few minutes.

    Thank you and blessings.

  • I was back in Minnesota, cleaning litter boxes and listening to my iPod when Alison Krauss, singing "When You Say Nothing At All," and K.T. Tunstall, singing "Suddenly I See," moved me to tears as images of my Farm Sanctuary internship danced in my head.

This video is my gift to the amazing animals and compassionate people of Farm Sanctuary. And, it is my gift to you- PLEASE share it and pass it on!

  • This is the most wonderful tribute to all of our animals! And you worked so hard, we were all very sad when it was time for you to leave. We've lost a few animals since you were here, and it makes me cry to see them in your video... but I'm so glad you got to know them all. Thank you for this!!

And of course, Chili sends his love!!! =)

  • My love to all of you!

  • Beautiful! (I am typing through tears) Each of these animals has a sad story in their past and I am humbled by their capacity to forgive. These pictures shine with respect, care, a sense of humor, love, and compassion. What a contrast to the misery suffered each year by billions of "farm" or "food" animals! Removing a label is a powerful thing- it frees an individual to define him or herself. Your vision for the world is inspiring and far-reaching. Thank you.

  • I couldn't agree more nor say it better! Thank you for sharing this video with us on the Farm Sanctuary Vote4Cause page! It's just wonderful. The music is perfect, and the amazing hearts and souls of the brave and beautiful animals - and of you - absolutely shine through!

  • What a great comment. Thanks! :)
